Nurturing Expressions has an immediate opening for an experienced medical biller to lead and support our billing department. This position also directly assists the CEO and Regional Manager with higher level tasks. The desired candidate must be enthusiastic, organized, and have a strong attention to detail as well as the ability to show sensitivity and discretion when engaging with clients and insurance providers.

This is a full-time position, five (5) days a week 9:00 AM – 5:30PM. This position has great potential to grow with the company as we continue to expand. We believe in and support a healthy work/life balance.

Essential Functions:

This position will serve as the lead medical biller. This includes, but is not limited, to the following:
· Assist with day-to-day tasks for the CEO, including contracting with insurance providers, updated licenses as needed, and more as assigned
· Ensures the company accurately bills for and receives maximum reimbursement for claims
· Follows up on denied claims with insurance companies and clients
· Incorporates insurance coverage changes into billing requirements and communicates changes with staff and clients
· Contributes to the team effort of the company thereby ensuring quality care and services for clients
· Receives and posts payments from insurance carriers and private payers, invoices clients as necessary, and follows up with payments
· Keeps current on all billing requirements and changes for insurance types and carriers. Informs management of changes in order to update company policy and procedure to comply with insurance policy changes
· Participates in the development and implementation of insurance billing procedures and policies for the company
· Coaches and trains staff on billing procedures and coding

Experience:
· Minimum 2 years related work experience in healthcare or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) environment
· General knowledge of bookkeeping, basic accounting and a familiarity of insurance industry standards
· Comprehensive experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance
· Thorough understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding required
· General understanding of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
· Ability to analyze and problem solve independently
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to collaborate and work with a team
· Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service for both clients and business partners

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires continuous use of arms, wrists and hands, occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.

About Us
Nurturing Expressions was founded in 2004 by Tracy Corey, a Registered Nurse and Board Certified Lactation Consultant. The company started as a mobile service, bringing breast pumps and lactation services directly to moms in their homes or hospital rooms. Today, we have grown to include a full-time retail store and our mobile service offers daily visits most of the major hospitals in the Puget Sound area. We offer breast pump rental and purchase opportunities, breast pump accessories and support, compression therapy and garment fittings, and mastectomy therapy. The retail store and administrative office is located in the West Seattle Junction.
