mariesalientParticipantHello! Is anyone interested in being part of a women’s book club in West Seattle? I am in my mid-30’s, and would love to meet others in the area and discuss a group book as well as what we may be reading on our own to see if it peaks anyone’s interests. Looking to meet in public places, and all are welcome. Please reply if interested!

localteachParticipantYes, I would be interested!

whalewatcherParticipantI’m potentially interested. I’d be interested in knowing more about what you’re envisioning.

SwaParticipantI am also in my mid-thirties and would be interested as well. What types of books?
January 4, 2019 at 7:45 am #937274
mariesalientParticipantHello! Great to see some responses. I think it could be fun to read a variety of books in this group, perhaps introducing each other to books that have piqued our own interest. We could take turns each month. After a rotation or two we should get a better feel for our interests as a group, and we can choose to narrow it down from there.
Please let me know if you have any ideas of your own. I’ll give this thread some more time to see if any others are interested. :)

whalewatcherParticipantIs age a consideration? (I’m in my sixties)

HikerGirlParticipantI’m also interested. I’ve been part of a monthly book club for several years, but they’re mostly women in the sound end and I’d love to have something here in the neighborhood. We meet once a month and the person who hosts chooses the book – pretty basic. I enjoy both fiction and nonfiction. Just finished: Becoming, Michelle Obama; currently reading: Leonard da Vinci, Walter Isaacson. Love a good trashy novel then and again as well!

SL9ParticipantI am interested!

localteachParticipantAny suggestions on a date/place to meet up and organize? Seems like Sunday was mentioned in several replies. I would suggest late afternoon or early evening might be a good time to start.

MsimkusParticipantDid this book club ever start picking books and reading and meeting? If so, are there still spots open? If not, I would love to plan a book club to begin meeting in Jan of 2020.
Thanks!October 2, 2019 at 8:20 pm #961085
birdrescuerParticipantYes, we’ve been meeting for over a year. We are fairly diverse in our
careers, stages of life, etc, but rather consistent in our politics which is quite left. We really like discussing things (not kids or people) and have a lot of fun. Since Uptown is closing early now we have decided to meet in our homes WITH NO FOOD served. Tell me a bit about yourself and what kind of books you like to read. email me activistkmw AT yahoo DOT com.January 6, 2021 at 11:33 am #996347
abeeParticipantHi! Is this book club still having meetings? Is there still availability to join? I’d love to join a book club and while I know it’s probably all virtual, I live in West Seattle and would prefer a West Seattle book club!
