bluepoint72MemberCan anyone recommend a good surgeon for rotator cuff repair? I’m sorely in need of a good referral.

celeste17ParticipantDr. Paul Williams, he is part of Swedish and works out of the Minor and James Building on pill hill and is an orthopedic surgeon. Phone is 206-386-9668.

bluepoint72MemberThanks for your help. I’m new to West Seattle and it’s always hard to reestablish services, especially health care.

SueParticipantMy sister had hers done in NY, so I can’t recommend the doctor since that’s a bit of a commute :) However, she could not rave more about the Aircast CryoCuff that the doctor had her get – a compression cuff that pumps ice cold water around different body parts (in this case it had a shoulder cuff). She said it was so helpful with the pain and inflammation. If your doctor doesn’t prescribe one, you might ask about it.

jissyParticipantBluepoint72 – I would recommend Dr. Jonathan Franklin, he specializes in knees (and did mine) and shoulders (I know a few happy patients for shoulder surgery as well). He has a great bedside manner and I wouldn’t hesitate to see him again. It looks like he’s working at 2 different facilities currently.

SueParticipantLike jissy, I also had knee surgery with Dr. Franklin and loved him. I’ve seen him for shoulder issues as well, but didn’t need surgery (thankfully). The surgeries and major tests (MRI, etc.) are done at the 45th St. location. I love that he’s not surgery-happy and is willing to look at more conservative options if available. My only caveat is that he’s not big on referring to physical therapy on his own. He’s never refused me a referral to one, but I had to ask for it.

dapuffinParticipantDr. Holland at Orthopedic Physicians Associates on Broadway did mine. He was awesome and is very pleasant and thorough.

librarianMemberI second Dr. Holland! He did my new knee last year and is marvelous. One benefit to this group of drs. is their building is separate from the rest of Swedish and dedicated to orthopedic surgery.
