saneyMemberwhen i needed brake work, i went to les schwab. they told me they dont offer pads/disc only service–you have to purchase the whole brake assembly.
brake stop in burien had great prices and did a great job. the brakes have a lifetime warranty (only pay labor to replace).

365StairsParticipantSorry…this won’t be helpful…but the title caught me as funny…because the majority of the time…”Good & Cheap” as it pertains to mechanics translates into a !$#! moment where the work was shoddy, you’re eventually out the original $$, and then getting the work done at the established reputable mechanic that you should have started with in the first place.
Depending on the year/make/model..there are only a few things about cars that be repaired / replaced at a low cost…
Brakes…a major safety component with parts beyond just “pads and rotors” are typically are not be included in that low cost list. You ask for cheap…you will get cheap and then when you front end marries the back end of the car infront of you…you will have that epiphany…
Get your 3 bids…compare apples to apples and spend the $$ that makes good safety sense.

MaryPMemberRon and Rick at Harrah’s Automotive in the Admiral District are good and REASONABLE. (I would say “great”, actually.) I agree with 365Stairs about a “good and cheap” mechanic.

flowerpetalMemberI’m surprised that nobody jumped on the recommendation of West Seattle Brake; so I will! Well respected, been in business for years (his shop office shows it but don’t judge a book by its cover), I know of people all over greater Seattle who would go no where but.
37th and Fauntleroy.

WWMomParticipantHi Folks,
I have always had great luck at Dere Auto on 35th and Barton and others have raved about them on the blog as well…that’s how I found out about them. I had my breaks done at Dere for a great price. I was very happy with the service.
