Dear Pit Bull and Doberman Owner– If you are out there and reading this– You and your dogs ran through our neighborhood this morning. Both dogs were off leash and intimidated a woman on her motorcycle by barking and circling around her. You were carrying the leashes for your dogs and would not leash them when asked. The woman was so shaken she stopped on her motorcycle and dropped it, breaking the clutch. You are an irresponsible dog owner. Should our children have been outside while your unleashed dogs were in the mood to harrass, the outcome of this incident might not have been just a broken clutch.

Dog owners, Leash your DOGS! It’s the LAW!!!

What neighborhood did this happen in? Scary!

17th and Trenton near Westwood. It was scary. The Doberman was jumping and barking. The Pit Bull would not follow his owner. They are very scary dogs, especially when they are not controlled.

    Jack –

I know which dogs and owners ( two women? About mother and daughter ages, dark-hair?) you saw. I live in Highland Park, but I do not know where they live. If you have a very good idea where they live, don’t post the exact address here, but do post the street and cross street. And CALL ANIMAL CONTROL and file a complaint so they are reported. Don’t

hesitate to call if you see them again. Let your neighbors know, but let AC do it’s thing, I would suggest you not directly confront them other than to tell them the

    neighborhood is watching them.

They are EXTREMELY aggressive dogs and the owners have VERY poor judgement. That is not good.

I appreciate you posting this on the forum for a headsup to

the hood, but call Animal Control. And tell your neighbors to call as well.

A couple of us did call animal control and filed complaints. We need to know where they live so that we can have AC give them a ticket. It was a man who was “walking” them, but not very many people have that combination of dogs–pit and doby. Who needs that much protection?

my mom was the lady on the motorcycle. she has also talked to animal control. it would be great if we knew where the dogs owner lives. the man had a leash in his hand but didnt leash the dogs even after being asked to. if anybody knows the owner of the dogs it would be appreciated if they were reported.

    Hey weblau8846 –

Sorry these negligent dog owners allowed this to happen to your mom. If I were your mom, I would also call the Seattle Police and report it. If her clutch was In fact damaged as a result of this incident, I wonder if her insurance company might help her. Spread the word around the neighborhood to warn people about the dogs, but let Animal Control and the police do all the direct communication with the owners, if and when you learn who they are. That is what they are trained to do and they will handle the dogs’ owners the most effectively.

And then the dogs will be appropriately dealt with.

    Good luck!

I am the woman on the Motorcycle. With the help of a very nice woman walking her dogs on leash Friday morning. She helped me locate the house were the dogs owner live. I went to the house with the woman that saw the incident and Animal Control was parked across the street from the dog owners house so I gave the officer the W.S blog I had printed and I was able to confirm that it was the two dogs that has harrassed me. By the way the Animal Control officer was at the house for a different call not mine. I am glad nobody has gotten hurt yet. The owner of the dogs said they were moving next week. I feel sorry for the new neighbors. The location were the dogs live is between Elmgrove & Thistle on 17th S.W. on the East side of the block. Please be careful.

Glad that you personally came out of this relatively unscathed, peanut. But, it still sucks that your bike was damaged. Do you have any plans on seeking damages from the (shouldn’t be) dog owners?

Happy to hear they are moving. You and your neighbors will be able to be a bit more at ease. I, too though, feel sorry for the new neighbors. Wonder what the chances are they’ll be moving way out to the boonies, with a huge lot for the dogs to run on, and hopefully not be much of a threat to others? :-/
