acemotelParticipantThere used to be a GREAT cobbler across from Jefferson Square, next to the Mural building. I went to drop off some shoes today, and the building is torn down! I don’t even know the name of his business. Does anyone know where he is now?

WSBKeymasterMost of the businesses in the buildings (which were cleared out more than a year ago) relocated but the cobbler was one of those who did not – retired or otherwise called it quits. There’s one over by Diva at 4480 Fauntleroy (although as we reported Sunday night, that building is now for sale, probably would be quite some time before any changes, though) … TR

KevinParticipantDon’t know – don’t care, as I was never impressed with his customer service.
.
I would suggest the guy at 37th and Fauntleroy, almost next door to Diva Espresso. The owner is all about customer service, with great workmanship, and reasonable prices.
.
If for no other reason, the place is a working museum!

birdrescuerParticipantAnd the store near Diva is marvelous. Should be a story in his store. Feels like it is 100 years old. GREAT.

acemotelParticipantThank you for the suggestions! Kevin, I know his customer service was lacking, but the workmanship was beyond excellent…… I can put up with gruff for quality work (in shoe repair, anyway…..)

jissyParticipantace: If you’re closer to Admiral, there is the guy across the alley from Jack-in-the-Box, behind Flower Lab. I’ve been taking mine and my husband’s stuff there for years… he is EXCELLENT!! (And very affordable IMO).

AimParticipantI second the cobbler over by the Jack In The Box in Admiral. I’m all the way down in Westwood and I use him, because he’s simply the best – and reasonably priced. He’s also old-school, and I like that.
My husband had a pair of boots that didn’t fit his super muscular calves. The cobbler, whose name I can’t recall, sat him down, took measurements every inch along his leg, then told us to return in a week. A week later, my husband had a pair of boots that fit like a glove from ankle to calf, and the leather was so perfectly matched in the inserts, as well as so cleanly designed, it looked like it was the original design of the boot. Nobody can tell it’s a customized boot other than the way it fits. Best part, he charged us only $70 to customize an expensive pair of leather boots. Small repairs are significantly cheaper.
At the time we last used him, he was cash or check only, so be prepared to NOT use a card.

anonymous123ParticipantI looooove the guy next to Diva’s. I have a favorite pair of heels that I always manage to ruin from wearing them all the time in the worst of Seattle’s weather. He always fixes them and touches them up to make them look brand new. Instead of buying new shoes I just have him fix my old ones hahaha.

acemotelParticipantThanks so much! Both great suggestions.

SarahScootParticipantI’ve been going to Admiral Shoe Repair for a few years now and highly recommend it!
