AnonymousInactiveThought I’d share this tidbit so my fate doesn’t befall another. Consider this do-goodery, if you choose.
Took the dog out for a walk through Fauntleroy Park this morning around 7:30AM, entering this beautiful park on the south side. After making it down the slight grade to the main loop trail, my dog darted after a squirrel and pulled me off the trail into the ravine. I managed to grab on to a cedar sapling but it did little to reduce my ponderous velocity, and I careened down the hill into the creek.
Bottom line here is that the trails in Fauntleroy Park are VERY MUDDY and VERY SLICK.
Please be careful out there.

Mayor QuimbyMemberI do work in there Mon/Wed/Fri, I am partly responsible for some of the thousands of flags and markers throughout the park. Do be careful through there. Especially now as it is still wet in a lot of places. That area catches a lot of street runoff so those creeks are flowing pretty good and the wetland areas are soaked.
Please pull any ivy you see and that you are able to get a hold of.

JiggersMemberWhat do you expect when you’re in a park, prestine paved trails?

AnonymousInactiveMayor – Y’all been busy down there! We steer clear of the areas where you’ve been planing / barking / placing flags as I understand there is a restoration effort underway. If I see any ivy, I will be sure to yank it out.
hopey – “Whiskey Woods” is the colloquial name for Fauntleroy Park derived from the many late night underage drinking parties that occurred therein. I learned this from a dear friend of mine that grew up in Arbor Heights who – ironically enough – is my drinking buddy.
jiggers – I didn’t go in expecting anything less than mud, mud, and more mud. I did go in expecting my dog to not drag me down the ravine. Thank you for your concern though. It is certainly not the South Pacific.
