mirabileMemberI feel riblogulous writing this, but I have to or I’ll feel guilty.
About 15 minutes ago, I was on the swings at the south end of Lincoln Park when I spied two white farmish-like ducks directly across the pedestrian path from me, next to the water. They just, well, they just didn’t look like they belonged there, staring at me with their beady little forlorn eyes.
Maybe they’re wild, I don’t know. They look like this:

RarelyEverParticipantmirabile –
they are clearly not wild ducks but chupacabras in disguise. do not be fooled into taking them home – they will eat all your goats AND your bathroom fixtures!

HunterGParticipantI know that two ducks live in one of the homes near the ferry dock there. They probably aren’t lost, just on an adventure a little further than home than usual.

mirabileMemberOh ho! Oh yes! Yes, I see! The old these-dehks-are-safe-and-sound-and-in-no-danger ploy. HunterG would have us believe that this is all wrapped up in a neat little pack-ahdge.
But! But!
Do these near-ferry dwellers know that their chupacabras are in imminent danger of being eaten for dinner by the nefarious mastermind, JanS? Answer me that!

Until we meet again… (Speakers advised)

RarelyEverParticipantbased to mirabile’s link and at the danger of being called a thread-jacker (or rather, thread-jiller), but i think “birdie num num” is now a perfectly appropriate way to tie all the posts in this thread together. :)

WSBKeymasterThey have lived on the beach for years, and have been discussed here on WSB a few times before. Not lost.

miwsParticipantI’ve noticed that it looks like our duck friend in mirabile’s pic, has some chapping or something at the tip of his beak, which reminded me of an issue that Greenlake had way back in the ’80’s or ’90’s.
Apparently, the Canadian Geese living around the lake, were chasing the walkers, bikers, and joggers, and nipping at their ankles.
Well, this one particular goose had nipped at so many ankles, his beak became quite chapped. This was, of course, very uncomfortable.
Anyway, one day he remembered there was a small Pharmacy nearby. So, he goose steps on over, and explains his dilemma to the Pharmacist.
The Pharmacist says “I have just what you need!” And proceeds to retrieve a giant Chapstick®.
The goose says, “I’ll take it!“
The Pharmacist asks, “Will you be paying cash, today?“
The goose replies, “No. Just put it on my bill!“
