    I just saw a woman at work dressed as Cruella DeVille. She was wearing a full fur coat so old it looked like it had been her grandmother’s and had elaborate makeup and hairdo to make her look the part. She said her son is dressed as a puppy.

    So, what’s your costume, if you have one? How about your kids? I am curious to hear what everyone is doing as far as dressing up.

    BDG: I’m a party pooper apparently. No costume here, and no parties, because it’s our first wedding anniversary this weekend and we’re staying home! :)

    I am going as “an NPR Pledge Drive Threw up on Me” – putting to good use all that NPR/KUOW swag I have received throughout the years.

    Last week’s party = Pope and a Catholic schoolgirl

    Today = Cowgirl

    Tomorrow = the kids will be Little Red Ridinghood and a Bumblebee and who knows what the dog will be this year…

    I came to work today as Susan Hutchison. I am wearing one wing (right), a name tag that says Hi, I’m Susie and inside my jacket I have Bush/Cheney, Dino Rossi, McCain/Palin and Mike Huckabee stickers. Clip on pearl earings also (although these are quite painful). Forgot to bring my book that proclaims “that reading this book makes you smart”.

    I came to work as a Charlie Brown ghost (“I had a little trouble with the scissors”) complete with my trick or treat bag full of rocks. Won the Funniest Costume prize at work, not bad for a spur of the moment inspirations. May or may not wear this out tomorrow evening.

    Pin up girl over here! The boy is going as Billy Mays. He will be drinking out of a well-cleaned-out Oxyclean bottle.

    I am hoping to be a fortune telling gypsy (great excuse to use the Magic 8-Ball). If that doesn’t work out, modified gypsy…ie: pirate.

    Not really that into it this year, I usually love the holiday, it kind of snuck up on me this year.

    I am a grunge rocker. I have the ripped jeans, flannel shirt, converse sneakers, rocker t-shirt and a big belt and grungy hair. All I need is a guitar.

    I’m going as a religious liberal denomination as yet unnamed: a Superman body to save the world, along with a “the sky is falling, the sky is falling” Chicken Little feathered cap.

    I have a martini costume. (a dress in the shape of a martini with a memory wire bottom) It is very hard to go to the ladies room! My granddaughter is a peep. We are worried she will melt today…..
