So we are going to find ourselves in Kirkland tomorrow right in the middle of rush hour. Rather than sit in traffic for an hour I think I would like to find somewhere to eat but we dont really know anything about the area. Looking for recommendations of a good place to get a reasonably priced meal in a family friendly environment. (8 month old in tow) Not interested in the big chain places.

    Thanks in advance!!

The Kirk-key Tavern, the Town Pump, or the Dona Maria are great places. The Arctic Circle and Herfy’s are good for fast food.

Compton’s Fish and Chips is great. The Flame Restaurant, where Miss USA was hostess, is fine for formal events.

If you like Cactus on Alki, there is one there too.

Mr. Bill Gates likes Burgermaster on north side of 520 or Kidd Valley on the lake

There’s also a Pegasus Pizza in Kirkland off 85th. They say they aren’t affliated with the Alki Pegasus but their menu and food taste are very similar.

Drive down to the Woodmark Hotel on Carillon Point (just a mile south of Kirkland). Dine at the Beach Café. http://www.thewoodmark.com/beachcafe/

It’s informal and charming as hell.
