CaitParticipantHi everyone – I’m a huge metropolitan market fan so I got a couple of gift cards for Christmas. What are the really awesome things that you can only find at Metropolitan market that I should look into? I have considered just handing Molly at the cheese counter all my cards and just letting her go nuts shopping for me but I’m trying to think of something unique…

herongrrrlParticipantHave you tried any of their flavored salts? The Salish Alder Smoked salt is fantastic on fish, and the roasted garlic is now an essential part of any potato dish in our house. There are bunch of others I haven’t tried yet, but sound very intriguing.
And hey, won’t those delicious special pastries for Fat Tuesday be showing up there sometime in the relatively near future?

ZenguyParticipantI had some of the flavored salts shipped all the way to Texas. The Salish, alderwood smoked salt is especially good.

JayDeeParticipantI third the artisan salts, especially if you have vegan/veggie friends. The smoked salts are da kine, especially since one uses them sparingly. They lend a shadow of bacon to many a dish.

LisaMParticipantI love the Grace Harbor products in the beauty section – especially the MSM cream if you have dry hands – its crazy expensive so that is what I would buy with a gift card!
Oh, and the truffle salt! On sauteed shrimp with roasted garlic and lots of bread and olive oil…yummm…

singularnameParticipantThe marianated lamb medallions (not the flank, the medallions). Mmmmmm. :->

jwwsParticipantBlack truffle studded cheese, English cheddar cheese, goat cheese, parmesan cheese, proscuitto, olive mixes, Mama Lil’s peppers, artisan breads, Kobe marinated short ribs, Kobe beef (steaks and ground), orange-carrot cake at the bakery, all the produce, freebies/2fers…need I go on?
And they support the West Seattle Garden Tour!

nighthawkParticipantWhen I was there the other day in the vinegar isle, I noticed they had Basalmic Vinegar locked up in a case. $150 a bottle. Not something you see in just any grocery store.
