2 9 years olds. I am think of places we can drive to that would be scenic along the way, it would be great if they were a combination of fun and educational.

Have you been to Northwest Trek?

No we haven’t! Great idea! Know of anyother places along the route we can hit? We will have all day. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Along the way…not so sure. Sorry.

But it usually ends up being about a 6 hr. trip for us, by the time you drive there and back and maybe stop for lunch.

BTW I’d suggest you arrive early, especially in the summer.

Another cool thing you could do is take a ferry over to Bainbridge and check out some of the parks there.

And get this book: Best Hikes With Children: Western Washington & the Cascades. Lots of great day trips there.

You could take the ferry to Vashon then to Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma. Not only do they have a great shark exhibit and beluga whales, but there is also a huge park to play in.

Chuckanut Drive up to Bellingham for lunch? Nice parks along the way, too.

My daughter loves a little sojourn to Uwajimaya and a wandering around the ID. Certainly fun, educational and delicious as well!

luckymy30, if you decide to go to Northwest Trek I have an extra 2 for 1 coupon from my Entertainment book. I can get it to you if you’d like it.

I love all the ideas so far.

Great ideas!! At some point we will do them all. Bonnie thanks for offering the coupon but I just checked our Entertainment Book and we have the 2 or 1 coupons as well, but thank you.

BTW the Tacoma zoo no longer has Beluga whales. One died in March and the other went back to San Antonio in June.

Glad you have an Entertainment book. I always look through mine. Brought the kids roller skating last week and that was a ton of fun.

Bonnie – Have you taken your kids roller skating at Pattison’s West in Federal Way? Thay aren’t in the book but a tone of fun and a very nice skating environment we hosted acouple birthday parties there and the staff couldn’t be nicer! Parents skating for free if you host a party there. Bellevue’s Skate King is also within a short drive and there is a coupon in the book. I want to check out the Chinook Book and see what it has to offer. There is also the Odyssey Maritime Museum a hand-on interactive musuem for kids with a large lego table for bilding fun.

I am really excited about our car trip to Northwest Trek on Monday. How would you rate the Tiger Mountain Zoo?

I haven’t been to Pattison’s West but my niece went there for a birthday party last weekend and loved it. I think we’ll head out there sometime soon.

I’ve been to the Tiger Mountain zoo but only at Christmastime when they had the Reindeer Festival. I didn’t think it was worth the money but it may be different at a different time of the year.

Oh hey, is the Odyssey Maritime Museum still open? I thought it closed down about a year ago. We went once and it was great but I’m pretty sure it closed down…unless it opened back up.
