carrieannMemberI posted an ad on craigslist before realizing I should’ve first just posted here. I have a number of items I’d rather not deal with selling, and if it saves me another trip to the Goodwill, I’m all for it. That said, here’s a link to the ad…
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/2658540030.html
Quick summary: Kids bikes, vacuum, childrens play gear, meat smoker — FREE!
It’s in the alley behind 42nd Ave, between Dakota and Andover, against our fence. You can take anything I’ve put back there (except my husband’s car. don’t think he’d appreciate that being gone.) and no need to come knock on the door to tell me. I’ll just poke my head out every once in awhile to see what’s still hanging around.

MargLMemberOh – I’d bet that Nicklesville could use the smoker if they get meat contributions and wanted to preserve it.
October 20, 2011 at 12:39 am #737585
carrieannMemberIf someone wants to come get it and take it to them, it’s all theirs! As of 5:30pm, the only items remaining are the meat smoker, vacuum, basketball hoop and sand/water table.

inactiveMembercould be a good idea MargL – is it an electric smoker carrieann? i don’t know much about meat smokers, so are there even any other kind of smokers? Does NV have generators? ?? I don’t have mobility at the moment or I’d snag the smoker myself just in case they could use it….anybody else around that neck of the woods?
October 20, 2011 at 12:45 am #737587
westcoastdebParticipantI can come snag the smoker now for nv. Leaving 18th and holden (where the power is out anyway).
October 20, 2011 at 12:47 am #737588
inactiveMemberthe power is out? :( I’m just a few blocks away and I’m good…thanks westcoastdeb for making the run!

westcoastdebParticipantCame back on as I was walking out the door. Gonna stop typing now and make the run.

westcoastdebParticipantDelivered. There was a man there with no clothes except what he was wearing, an xl or xxl it looked. I’ve. Got nothing his size but if anyone does, feel free to drop in.
October 20, 2011 at 1:44 am #737592
MargLMemberWell yay! Thanks westcoastdeb! Hope they can make good use of it!
And thanks to carrieann for putting out the neat stuff for free! :-)

westcoastdebParticipantThey seemed rather happy to have it, and I was happy to help. This sort of thing is what makes West Seattle rock — all of us trying to look out for one another. (Side note, I pass by there every day before and after work, so I am more than happy to pick up/deliver donations within a reasonable distance. Gotta put the extra room in the Expedition to good use)

carrieannMemberAwesome! Thanks so much, westcoastdeb! I’ll keep the forums posted on more items as I continue cleaning out the downstairs storage and garage areas.
On that subject, I may have some XL/XXL men’s clothing to donate. Will keep you posted, if you’re willing to stop by the same address and pick up for delivery. I won’t make you get those from the alleyway, though. ;)

JanSParticipantYes, Mike it does !I’m finding that out myself.
October 20, 2011 at 6:35 pm #737599
westcoastdebParticipantI am more than willing to come retrieve the clothes and blankets. I can come by this evening (after 6) or Sunday afternoon.
Let me know what works for you!

(you can also reach me via text at 206-949-5001. I can’t answer voice calls as I am at work, but texting is easy enough to hide ;) )
October 20, 2011 at 6:44 pm #737600
carrieannMemberDebbie: I have some blankets and men’s XL/XXL shirts for you. (Some long-sleeve, cold weather ones.) Will text you, too, but pick-up after 6pm this evening should work perfectly!
October 20, 2011 at 6:50 pm #737601
westcoastdebParticipant10-4!
October 20, 2011 at 7:23 pm #737602
KatherineLParticipantDebbie, I’m assuming you live somewhere south if you go past Nicklesville. Do you ever come to the area of Fauntleroy and 35th? I have some things I’ve never managed to get down there. I also have a windbreaker, size 2X, and an XL sweatshirt. I’d be happy to meet you somewhere. I can’t text, please email me at kld963@gmail.com.
October 20, 2011 at 7:36 pm #737603
TammiWSMemberI can pick up your things KatherineL — I have additional things to deliver this weekend as well. I’m over in this area often so could meet you tomorrow or tonight even at 615 or so?
October 20, 2011 at 7:38 pm #737604
westcoastdebParticipantWoo-hoo! Sounds like I will have a truck full to deliver. Anyone else in?
October 20, 2011 at 8:56 pm #737605
KatherineLParticipantTammi, Thank you. Deb has said she’d stop by and pick them up.
October 20, 2011 at 11:57 pm #737606
westcoastdebParticipantLeaving work now to make my way home and then my rounds. Carrie, if you could text me your address that’d be awesome. See you all in just a bit.
Debbie
