fetchwestMemberI posted a while back but now have the funds to fix the problem with a better idea of what we need done. I need someone to install a french drain in my back yard, fix our sump pump (a few people said it is either too big a pump or too small a bucket) possibly install a 2nd pump and drill holes in the retaining wall to allow water to escape our yard. We may also need some landscaping done to assist with the flooding. If anyone knows of one company that can do all of this please let me know.

shihtzuParticipantAre you an Angieslist member? There’s a whole section of basement waterproofing companies who do those sorts of things. I was just looking into such companies because we’re getting water in our basement this year where we never have before. One I’ve found that might be worth a call is Rite-way Waterproofing.

WWMomParticipantHi There,
We had terrible flooding on our basement and had the following work done:
1) Replace old sump pump in downstairs bathroom
2) Install French drains inside house in our basement
3) Install second sump pump in basement master closet.
We used Perma Dry Waterproofing and they were wonderful. The carefully explained all of our options and were very thorough. In fact, at first we opted NOT to replace the old sump pump and then it did start having problems one Sunday evening. I was panicking thinking of baling water by hand for hours!! I called Perma Dry and left a message with their answering service. I got a call back within 30 minutes and the person who called me said he would come right over. He did and fixed the sump pump on the spot. I soon learned it was the ownder of the company and he charged me nothing for his time and efforts. The next day, I called up and scheduled a time for the old sump pump to be replaced!! Since this work was done, 2006, we have not had any water in our basement. We are completely satisfied and I highly recommend them.

WeezieMemberWe used Rite-Way several years ago, after being flooded out of our basement numerous times and missing work, etc. Their work made it possible for us to use and enjoy our basement worry-free. We have recommended them to others who have also been pleased with the results. It was so worth the money to have this work done.

fetchwestMemberThanks for all the suggestions. Perma-Dry and Rite-Way are both coming out to give bids in about a week. I will let everyone know how it goes.

PlaneGuyMemberI second Perma-Dry. After the horrific November 2006 flooding, they did fantastic work for me. I screened probably 6-8 different companies, but Perma-Dry was it for me. And they offer a lifetime warranty on their work. It aint cheap, but the experience was a pleasant one.
