DBPMemberYes, (some) people are the problem. But (some) people are also the solution.
I like animals AND people.

2krazy4wordsParticipantYou’re right Jan, it’s going to be a fun afternoon with LOTS of GREAT items to bid on.
The “auction items” page was just updated … a lot of support from our local businesses!
http://www.fafseattle.org/Friends_of_the_Animals_Foundation/Auction_Items.html
Come on out and schmooze with the locals and support a great local organization.

DBPMemberJan:
Absolutely I support FCAT.
Absolutely I am going to this event.
Absolutely I will buy you a beer.
I would like to see everyone on the Blog who supports FCAT’s goals not just coming to the Rocksport on Sunday but also making a commitment to bring a friend. Drag the friend there if you have to, but just get them there, so they can learn about FCAT, too, and possibly even become a long-term supporter.
As Pamela and her friends have pointed out, untold thousands of cats suffer and die unnecessarily each year, simply because there are too many cats for the number of humans who can care for them.
Obviously, the most effective and HUMANE way to end this suffering is by preventing it. And the best way to do that is by getting as many cats spayed and neutered as possible.
That’s where FCAT comes in. FCAT combines their human volunteer power with the resources of other non-profit groups (like the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Clinic) and low-cost vet providers (like South Seattle Vet) to get the biggest bang from donor dollars.
I have seen Pamela in action, and I’m here to tell ya that not one penny of FCAT donor money is wasted. Not one penny! It all goes to animal assistance. And it all supports the long-term goal of ending animal cruelty by PREVENTING it.
Yes . . . there is another animal assistance group active on the Blog as well. (Hint: starts with “F,” “F” in the middle, “F” on the end.) And you know what? I support BOTH of them. They each do different things — good things — and are therefore both worthy of our support.
But FCAT’s fundraiser is coming up first, so that’s the one I’m stumping for right now.

justcuzMemberNow, DBP, don’t forget that there are more F’s…FCAT’s awesome partner in this event, FAF! :D I’m lucky, because I get the pleasure of working (playing?) with both groups. Thanks for mentioning FCSNP and SSV too. They are critical components.
The silent auction is really out of this world – just fantastic support from the community. So come on Sunday and yes, bring a friend!

HelperMonkeyParticipantBump!
April 19, 2012 at 6:00 am #752300
2krazy4wordsParticipantDBP keep on ‘stumping’ :-) Great post! This event will be off the hook! So grab your family & friends, neighbors & comrades and check out all the awesome items up for auction. You’re sure to find something for anyone on your gift list – or yourself! Help two rescue organizations continue to provide the assistance they offer the community – both the humans & the cats that adopt them.

DBPMemberOh, hell. Just come on down for the alcohol. It is a bar after all. No one will question your reasons for being there.

hammerheadParticipantApril 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm #752303
JiggersMemberAre there going to be actual felines in that restaurant? Better shamppoo that place down after if so. I don’t need fleas in my meatloaf sandwich.
April 20, 2012 at 7:26 pm #752304
DBPMember>>Are you willing to drink out of the glass that your cat drank out of?
Hammerhead, I can guaran-goddamm-tee you that I drink out of the same glasses my cats drink out of. I also eat off the same dishes they do.
But I never know for sure when I’m doing it, see? And that makes all the difference.
April 21, 2012 at 3:50 am #752305
hammerheadParticipantGood I drink out of the same glass too. What are ya gonna do.(thought I was the only crazy one out there, even cuter when they use their paw)
Jiggers no cats, just humans supporting our cause.
We are about 1 1/2 days away. :))

April 21, 2012 at 4:27 pm #752306
justcuzMemberIf you’re going to imbibe, can I (highly!) recommend a Tabby Tonic? Yummmmm. It’s a special drink just for tomorrow’s event, created by the talented mixologists at Rocksport. Very tasty & refreshing – and proceeds will be donated to the cats!
April 21, 2012 at 5:20 pm #752307
hammerheadParticipantBUMP!!!!
April 21, 2012 at 7:03 pm #752308
mehud7ParticipantFAF currently has some of the oldest cats that we can remember having all at one time in need of homes. Luka and Valentino are 13, Bambino is 8, and sweet Monster is 6. FCAT has some of the youngest, mere days and weeks old. Both groups work together to place cats and kittens of all ages in loving homes while working feverishly to spay and neuter to reduce overpopulation. Our Rocksport fundraiser is the biggest and best of the year and we would love to see you there tomorrow from 1-5 pm!
April 21, 2012 at 9:29 pm #752309
hammerheadParticipantHUGE THANKS TO ROCKSPORT!!!
April 22, 2012 at 4:16 pm #752310
4th of EightParticipantYAAAAAH!! today is THE day to to get a Tabby Tonic!!!!! I’m sure Rocksport will make them non- alcohol for your kiddies also. A lot of work by FCAT & FAF to make today fun for you. Now go out and bid, imbibe, and socialize for the wonderful cats & dogs that need our help.
April 22, 2012 at 5:40 pm #752311
justcuzMemberIt’s a beautiful day to raise some money! We know you want to get out in the yard or make sandcastles at Alki today too, but you’ve got to eat, yeah? Come in your lawn-mowing sneaks or flip flops, it’s a casual affair :) And happy Earth Day!
April 22, 2012 at 6:02 pm #752312
DBPMember>>Our Rocksport fundraiser is the biggest and best of the year and we would love to see you there [today] from 1-5 pm!

April 23, 2012 at 2:28 pm #752314
hammerheadParticipantAgain a HUGE thank you to the ROCKSPORT, for the use of your restaurant.
To all who came and supported FAF/FCAT supports in our rescues.
Thanks to ALL of the LOCAL businesses that donated.
A big shout out to those volunteers who made the fundraiser such a success. They wish their names to be left out, but you know who you are.
FAF/FCAT
April 23, 2012 at 5:32 pm #752315
2krazy4wordsParticipantI think the ‘Tabby Tonic’ should be a regular item! Thank you Rocksport for helping FAF/FCAT and making yummy food and drink to tide us over.
April 23, 2012 at 8:22 pm #752316
4th of EightParticipantAmen to that! Because the Tabby Tonic was REALLY GOOD ( I mean it! ) I asked if it could be added to their menu and was told it is already there.., just ask for an ‘Applesauce’, that is what it is called. Thanks again Rocksport — YUM!
