This might be too late for this season to help people out but one of the best things we’ve started doing is signing up for click and ship through the USPS. Located here: https://www.usps.com/ship/print-a-label.htm

You need to create an account and you can save addresses so make shipping easier, but you don’t have to. You can select what type of packing you will use either your own or the standard priority mail boxes or envelope. There are discounts for printing your own label and you can choose additional options like more insurance and notifications. Pay on line and print your label, pack it up and you can just bring it to the post office and leave on the counter. No waiting in line.Do yourself a favor, it is worth it!

I make a point of avoiding the post office at this time of year. My luck has run out, however: Yesterday’s mail brought one of the dreaded peach slips, and I will have to go to the post office to pick up the package. Even worse, the slip didn’t specify the sender, so I have to go before Christmas, because there are still a couple of gifts that haven’t arrived.

Halyn, be advised that the door bell on the door for package pick-ups isn’t there. I don’t believe there is a working contact under the tape on the wall. You’ll need to either tell a counter clerk to call for assistance or simply knock on the door to get service.
