Dog Nip by Tall White Poodle – Monday Morning (6:35am-ish)

While out running up the bottom of California Ave SW Monday morning 6:35am-6:40am (near Alki Ave SW), I was nipped by a tall white poodle being walked by its owner, a woman. The sidewalk was very narrow. The woman was chatting with her friend. I did not even realize I was nipped until my left thigh hurt about 10 feet afterward. While I did call out to her, I failed to ask her any questions.

If you are the owner, would you please respond to this? I would like to know if your dog has up to date shots. I would also appreciate if you held your dog closer to you next time. I know the sidewalk was narrow but still no fun.

Unfortunate this happened to you. Trust it is benign and already a nonissue for you.

Unfortunately, there’s not any action on this board where dog bites are involved. Similar silence happened a while back when a child was bitten by a dog at Hiawatha.

Now … if you add something like “… and she was giving away puppies out of a cardboard box” you’ll find a few dozen outraged people prepared to go to war.

I guess I’d fall into that category, singularname, lol, but in all honesty, I’ve never seen the dog in question so not sure what I can do except keep an eye out for it. I’m pretty sure that anyone willing to approach a box of free puppies would also be willing to approach the poodle owner and encourage her to do the right thing ;) I suppose there’s a chance that she didn’t know it happened, like the OP at first. kathleenh, you might want to add an email address or something so that you can be contacted.
