College Pro Painters, any reviews?

My husband and I have College Pro coming out this weekend to give us a quote and I’m wondering if anyone has any good/bad experiences with them.

I worked there for 3 years while I was in college. It’s a pretty good company, but if they still paint how they used to, its a little overpriced.

When I worked there the sales pitch was that we brushed and rolled all the paint on the house, no sprayers, and so your paint would last twice as long (maybe it was 3 times?). Usually the price was quite a bit higher then a quote from someone who would spray the house because, well brushing and rolling takes a heck of a lot more time then using a sprayer does.

Most of the crew leads have at least a full summers experience, and they do really higher college kids, and pay them pretty darn well for someone that age, so they do some good stuff too… but I’m not sure if I could call it a great value.

We used college pros a couple of years ago and had good success. We are having them come back to look at a problem area soon but it should be under warranty (I hope). The North side of our house is unprotected and I see a place where the paint is lifting and there are a couple of places where the water stains are seeping through the new paint. We elected to only have one layer of paint and for the north side we should have had two done. We live on a corner and the North side of the house faces the street so no protection from the elements. Nice crew and cleaned up very professional.
