    Good LaughterNoon My Kindred Neighbors,

What did one bubble say to the other bubble?

“The only thing we have to “sphere” is “sphere” itself!”

    My name is Garry Golightly.

Perhaps you remember me from the many performances I put on at the Elliot Bay Brewery Pub and Restaurant? I am known as the Bubble Man of Seattle. I wish to be known as the Bubble Man of W.Seattle. I was evicted from my milu today because my 95 year old ‘former’ landlady is selling the house I live under.

I have lived in N Seattle for 18 years and must move within the week next week.

If anyone knows of a place to share I would be eternally grateful! A Guest House? A Mother-In-Law Unit? A rather large storage space you found out would make a great little apartment?

A Loft? A yert?? Good for the altitude for a Bubble Man!

Today is today but you can see my performance for the 8th time at the Elliot Bay Brewery on July 7, 2012 @7:PM!!! My FLAVORITE show of the season!

    Folks…I gotta move..soon…only 2 requirements…a secure parking space and a bathtub.

I also want to mention that I have 2 major Art Installments at Carkeek Park!!!

    Contact me @:206.729.6692…my iphone

    See You Lighter,and Thanks!!!

Folks, Bubbleman is a great guy, who spreads happiness, and good citizenship. (And bubbles!)

If anyone can help him, please do! It would be great to have him in West Seattle, for just more than his appearances!

    Good luck, Bubbleman!

    Mike

Our MIL apartment will come up for rent in Mid July, unfortunately it doesn’t have off street parking nor a bathtub. Lots of street parking and a very large custom shower.

    Hey bubbleman!

How much can you afford? I’m just converting a space and it has a bathtub and parking.

I’m a short walk to downtown and all the buses and it is a great neighborhood.

Also, I don’t believe a landlord is allowed to give one week’s notice under ANY circumstances. From my understanding of the law, at least 20 days notice is required, no exceptions. Please contact the Seattle Tenant’s Union to find out more about your rights, and don’t allow yourself to be bullied into moving sooner than you must. http://www.tenantsunion.org/

Here, specifically, are some things your landlord is NOT legally allowed to do. Most importantly, your landlord cannot evict you without going through a court process. More info here:

    http://www.tenantsunion.org/rights/landlord-illegal-acts

I know from personal experience as a landlord (not in Seattle) who unfortunately had to evict a tenant for non-payment, that the eviction process is lengthy and takes more than 30 days if the tenant chooses to protest and does not move out willingly. It is absolutely your legal right to fight this eviction and the terms you have been given.

I just found more information specific to Bubbleman’s situation, assuming he lives within the Seattle city limits (not in King County, i.e. White Center):

    http://www.tenantsunion.org/rights/just-cause-eviction-protection/

    5) The owner decides to sell a single family dwelling unit. Seattle tenants living in single family dwelling units that are being put up for sale are entitled to 60 days written notice before the end of a rental period. Single family dwelling units are houses designed to hold a single family, not apartment buildings, duplexes, or triplexes. Within the 30 days after the tenant leaves, the landlord must take action to list and show the unit. The landlord must continue to try to sell the unit for 90 days after they first listed and showed the unit. If the landlord does not go through with these steps as described in the JCEO, the tenant may file a complaint with the DPD and may pursue the landlord for damages up to $2000 in Small Claims Court or other appropriate court.

if it was an illegal MIL unit, that may void his rights as a tenant, especially if he didn’t have a valid lease. bubbleman move to WS!!!

Not to pry but is it in WS? I ask only so that in our numerous upcoming mentions of Bubbleman (he’ll be at the Morgan Junction Community Festival 6/23, and I assume again on Summer Fest Eve 7/12) we can refer to him as a West Seattleite, if that will be accurate … And hooray to all you folks for being helpful, a WSB Forums hallmark … TR

TR… I’m pretty sure it’s in a space that Yikes is renting to him, fairly close to the junction. See her post #7. I know one shouldn’t assume…but I am :)

Yes, he will be living in WS at my place. I’d appreciate your respecting that I don’t want to broadcast where, but Jan has been here for dinner and he will be centrally located, within walking distance to the junction.

    We still need boxes! Thanks!
