    does anyone know what the boom was? it sounded a lot like a transformer blowing but i think that would have reached the front page by now

    the good news. it didnt wake the dog .. just me :(

    but if it was a firework it brings me to a question
    is it now considered ok to let off fireworks in the middle of the night for any occasion now?

    The 4th is close enough that it’s unfortunately fireworks season just in general. I heard a boom in the general Westwood direction (east of us) not long ago.

    yes – early 4th folks who think only about their “fun”: and not the rest of us. Every night for several nights in Arbor Heights, a very loud boom after 11pm. Affair it will continue up to W W 3 – I mean 4th of July
