FullTiltParticipantTracy posted more info about this in White Center Now:

Thursday, Jan 29 all day at Barnes & Noble Westwood Village
All purchases that day will have a portion of the sale go to New Start Alternative High School. The school has been putting together a library from scratch, so this money will go to buying books and reference materials and all the other wonderful things high school libraries should have.
Everything counts, including stuff in the cafe, BUT YOU HAVE TO MENTION THE SCHOOL-the easiest way to do this is to download the flyer from the link above, or email me and I can email you a copy. We also have some at Full Tilt.
The evening of the 29th, 6:30-8pm, there will be work by students on display and a raffle of Full Tilt prizes.
If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks everyone!

FullTiltParticipantThis Thursday!
We will also have a wish list book table if you want to see what books we are asking for, and you can even buy us one if you like!
(and by We I mean New Start, not Full Tilt)
Thanks everyone!

JoBParticipantFull tilt…
it is possible that some of the books on the wish list are sitting in local personal libraries.. waiting to be liberated by impressionable minds…

also.. can you link us to the coupon so that more of us get the chance to use it?

You just need to mention the number when you buy something: 423327
Purchases all day count, and you can buy stuff over the phone too.

WSBKeymasterThe link and voucher number also have been on the WSB Events calendar for a couple weeks now for this date, if you have trouble relocating this on the day of (though we will have it on the WCN/WSB home pages in some format that day too)

FullTiltParticipantStill working on the book wish list-there has been some staff changes at B&N that is causing some minor delays in this. We are looking for pretty much anything that might be appealing/useful to teens, is not too old and is in good shape. So please no 1973 World Book Encyclopedias…:)
Use this code at B&N today: 423327

FullTiltParticipantTHANK YOU! We finally have some numbers back from the book fair and would like to thank all that came out to support us! Over break we also got carpeting, book shelves and computers, so the library is really coming together and looking good. Our school building is pretty old, so this project does great things for everyone’s spirits. Thank you!
The official release:
“Hello all,
Sorry this e-mail is coming to you so late. I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone who came out to support New Start at the Barnes and Noble Book Fair last month.
Over $1300 worth of merchandise was purchased in our schools name. This will provide us will a significant discount on our next Barnes and Noble purchase (which will hopefully be a very large one J). In addition to this, we had about 35 books purchased directly for our school and several boxes of used books donated, as well as a $100 gift card.
I am very impressed with the generosity of this community and am happy to see so many people willing to support education and literacy during these rough times.
Thanks for supporting us here at New Start. It is greatly appreciated.”
