Bike Mechanic wanted!

We are hiring for a Bike Mechanic!
Alki Bike and Board is West Seattle’s oldest and friendliest bike shop and we are hiring a new team member for the repair department.

Work requirements include: 2+ years of Mechanic work, Knowledge of timely customer service in bicycle repair, based on a bike tune up procedure. Knowledge of techniques in brake adjustments, derailleur adjustments, wheel truing and bicycle safety concerns. Knowledge of bicycle tools and the proper use of. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Some typing skills for work order entry and service writing, also required.

Personal requirements: A positive attitude with analytical skills for problem solving. An ability to learn from seasoned mechanics and adopt standard procedures. Good communications skills with a knowledge of how important it is to keep customers informed regarding repair estimates, repair status and repair delays. Preference will be given to active cyclists who use their bike on a everyday basis. An ability to enjoy a work day and the time spent with co-workers and customers.
