villagegreenMemberAnyone read this article?
Personally, nothing beats the smell of bacon and coffee in the morning, but the whole foodies’ bacon craze and sudden pig obsession did sorta reak of cultural slumming. Kinda like the hipsters over on Capitol Hill wearing trucker hats as some sorta “blue collar” status symbol. I’m ready to move on to another animal.
How about a goat craze? Not only will they eat your garbage and clear your yard, but they’re damn tasty when cooked right.

KBearParticipantSo they’re blaming Tom Douglas for something that Emeril Lagasse caused a long time ago (overexposure of bacon.) Well, if the Stranger says bacon’s not hip anymore, that’s good enough for me! MORE BACON!! And goat, too!

flowerpetalMemberMy previous inlaws (of a sort) barbecued a goat every 4th of July. It was darn yummy. No pig pickn’ for us; we had ourselves a goat pickn’.

carrieannMemberAs tasty as the bacon some of us obtained from The Swinery (via christopher) was, I have to say that Costco’s thick/center cut bacon still gets my vote. Wrapped around a medjool date and baked in the oven… Delish.
