For all of us non-red-meat-eaters, full-on vegetarians and/or vegans*…there is a BACON alternative! Direct from South Seattle…

    http://www.baconsalt.com/

Great on baked potatoes, chicken, eggs etc.

*Hickory is the only vegan option as the other contain some form of dairy I believe.

I just ordered the PEPPER variety – it’s supposed to kick ass in a Bloody Mary….

    Happy Holidays!

    Nice Rainy!

I really appreciate healthy & tasty alternatives. I’m a hopeless carnivore, but am big on balance, so thank you! :)

As desperate as I may become in battling cold weather, this salt will NOT go on icy sidewalks people ;).

update- they DO have an MSG-free variety! It’s the “natural” flavor. Yum! And they have bacon-flavored lip gloss!

ok. the lip gloss might be a reach for me. having food tasting like bacon is one thing, ME smelling and tasting like bacon….i dunno ’bout that.

There was an article in the national news about that company earlier this year. They have been enjoying a brisk business shipping bacon-salt to mess halls for US troops in sensitive areas of the Middle East where bacon is absolutely not allowed.

Bacon lipgloss?? Oh man. That may have to be my next purchase. (Though I’m still in love with my Cheap Red Wine-flavored lip gloss.)

I first found Bacon Salt at the Puyallup Fair a few years ago, before they really had it available in stores. They were serving it sprinkled over roasted corn and, man… So. Good. We keep a bottle on hand, because we’re shamelessly a household that enjoys All Things Bacon.

The Onion A/V Club does a weekly food taste test, and the vast majority of their tests involve bacon-flavored foods. Bacon-infused vodka anyone?

shed22, if you ever DID bite through you lips because of the bacon lip gloos, you could always bandage them up with some bacon “band-aids” from Archie McPhee! :-)
