That you would be willing to let me borrow for a trip to a nursery in the north end? I have full comprehensive/collision coverage and will of course pay for gas and even throw in a pound of Starbucks coffee for your troubles. :)

Probably take me a couple hours.

    Thanks for considering!

Sorry, no truck, but my guess is you might have more luck asking someone to drive out there with you; less likely that someone is going to hand over their keys.

Otherwise, you can get a pick-up or cargo van at U-Haul at 35th/Morgan for $20…maybe a little more than the Starbucks, but not too much. I’ve used both but prefer the pick-up!

If you hit the U-Haul on 35th – don’t park in the lot next door to the South. I got parked in by a youth center van – the U-Haul people told me it was fine to park there…it’s not. I think street parking is the only option.

I recall parking just on the other side of the north fence. I THINK it was legal :. That was last year though, so maybe it’s changed since then.

This U-Haul is the best one in the city I think. When I lived up north, I rented from them twice – they had a large inventory available, as I recall. And, for the buck spent, it’s a good deal, especially if you live close by.

That U-Haul takes *at least* twenty minutes to rent out anything.

Wait in line to get helped by the indoor person, then wait for the outdoor person to check the equipment in your presence (*don’t* trust the outdoor person… check the vehicle/trailer lights yourself), then wait in line again for the indoor person, then wait while the paperwork is generated so you can sign it, then finally get out of there.

Returning the vehicle/trailer is vastly easier. Just leave it in their parking lot, which takes approximately thirty seconds.

Croft Truck Rental in White Center is the way to go if you want to avoid the U-Haul.
