SueParticipantHas anyone tried ordering from Amazon Fresh since the storms and actually had a delivery made? Their site said that deliveries may be delayed due to weather.
I have never used them before, but decided to try them this morning. The earliest delivery time I could get was Sunday afternoon. Fortunately what I ordered isn’t crucial, but I was curious if anyone’s deliveries are actually coming.

cjboffoliParticipantSue: They got a delivery out to me on Tuesday morning (which included about 20 pounds of Kosher salt). They arrived a little late but that was to be expected considering the ice.

celeste17ParticipantMy milk guy (Smith Brothers) was able to make it our today.

austinMemberAmazon fresh made it to my place Wednesday morning but I had to talk them into coming (they tried to cancel on me but I wouldn’t have it) and it seemed like they were planning on a few delays overall. Normally they’re quite prompt and without issue but they do seem to have a more conservative attitude toward road conditions during this period of adverse weather. If things turn out to be tough roadwise this weekend, you might not want to rely on them entirely for a Sunday delivery.

KayzelMemberI ordered Monday evening (first time order) and received the goods 11 AM Wednesday from a very cheery fellow. I thought that was great, all things considered.

ellenaterMemberI got my delivery on Tuesday but haven’t ordered since. Figured it was better to get the goods in hand.

mayjuneMemberI ordered Friday morning and got a delivery this morning as scheduled. HUGE rave for Amazon Fresh!

melissaParticipantThey were out with our groceries this morning. Quite amazing. The funny thing was that it was 18 degrees when they delivered and they packed our dairy and veg with ice packs. The lettuce was a little frost nipped around the edges, but all was wonderful other than that.

LisaParticipantJust saw an Amazon Fresh truck on my side street in Belvidere. They are delivering!
December 20, 2008 at 8:06 pm #651051
CreightonMemberYep, Lisa. I saw the Amazon Fresh truck coming up (slick) Genesee hill a few hours ago. The truck was really dirty, and looked like it’d been out in the snow for a while. Love it!

jenny12MemberOne of the nice Amazon Fresh drivers told me they are looking
to employ more drivers. So, maybe it is hard for them to keep up when things get slowed down with the weather.
Here is another option. I have had delivery come pre-dawn. I tried it before the storm – and it works great. I can’t believe these goofy totes actually keep it all fresh and cold. They also don’t get stolen ever. They are pretty big, but easy enough to scoot across the floor. By the way, if you order before 12/22, you can get a free Christmas bouquet – look on the home page. but make sure you call and verify the flowers. They’ve had trouble with the flowers not getting in the order.

SueParticipantWell, I just got the email that they were cancelling on me today; can’t say I’m surprised. Fortunately nothing I ordered was crucial. I just called them and they were so apologetic and friendly, and I had them reschedule rather than cancel. The earliest slot though is Tuesday morning. So at this point I wouldn’t order anything you absolutely need from them.
December 28, 2008 at 5:39 pm #651054
SueParticipantMy first experience with Amazon Fresh didn’t end up being all that I expeccted, unfortunately. I first ordered on 12/19, but had it rescheduled 3 times due to weather. I totally understand that and am sympathetic – I was glad that they didn’t risk drivers in extremely bad conditions. However, my 12/24 delivery was rescheduled to pre-dawn today (before 6am). It’s finally clear enough to get out and buy my own groceries, but I let the order stand. I was up at 6:30 and no groceries. Went back to bed and woke at 9 to still find no groceries. No email from them to update me (like they usually did) and the website still showed that it was scheduled for today, pre-dawn. When I called customer service I was told that the website showed it was cancelled, but with no note as to why or what happened. He did offer to see if he could get it on a truck today for me, but I declined and told him they could cancel it outright. I’ve written to their customer service to find out exactly what happened.
Did anyone get a delivery in the last day or two, or are they still a mess?
December 28, 2008 at 7:02 pm #651055
JoMemberI’ve got an order schedules to be delivered today between 4-5pm.
I’ll let you all know if/when it arrives.
December 28, 2008 at 7:03 pm #651056
miwsParticipantFWIW, I saw an Amazon Fresh truck go by this morning, northbound on California, in the block Thriftway is on.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember what time, but it would have been between about 7:00 and 9:00.

dhgParticipantit was going to our house. we’re happy with their service
December 29, 2008 at 12:24 am #651059
SueParticipantI just got an apology email from them – they said in the rescheduling confusion they accidentally cancelled it internally. They did send me a code to use for $20 off another order. I just stocked up, but when I need a delivery I’ll try them again. I know people here are happy with them generally, so I won’t hold this against them. Especially in these unusual circumstances.
December 29, 2008 at 4:26 am #651060
amyParticipantI have to add a Rave for them. My order also got cancelled because of the weather. They sent me a $20 discount code AND they sent my non-grocery item (DVD gift for Christmas) via overnight UPS to get to my house on December 24th (and it actually arrived on time!).

ellenaterMemberAF is awesome. A heads up though…we did get our pre-dawn delivery stolen once. It was a really big order, too. Major bummer. AF refunded it though which I thought was really cool of them. Their customer service is excellent and that is hard to find these days. I can’t get everything from them but I can get a lot! It’s fun to shop online, too and the produce is surprisingly good.

jenny12MemberIt’s so cute about Amazon Fresh. They’ll sometimes have one little
bottle in this huge tote. Did you know that you can get free shipping on Amazon.com thru the A. Fresh site? And that
Amazon Fresh has no taxes on non-grocery items?
January 11, 2009 at 4:15 pm #651063
MagpieParticipantAmazon Fresh is now charging tax on taxable items. I think it started in December. But still, good quality items. They were out of mor things than usual this week because their suppliers had problems getting to the warehouse with I-5 and Snoqualmie being closed. I think they have remarkable customer service.
I like to see my groceries right away so did pre dawn once and hated the number of totes that I had in my foyer till the next visit.
January 11, 2009 at 7:07 pm #651064
JanSParticipantMagpie….you can request that they pick up the totes the same day as pre-dawn delivery. You check the box when you’re checking out, and just empty them, and put them back outside. They magically disappear at some point.:)
January 11, 2009 at 9:00 pm #651065
JenVMemberJan, not any more, on orders under $60 – although they do offer that you email them for pickup if you absolutely can’t keep them until the next order.
January 11, 2009 at 9:59 pm #651066
MagpieParticipantI think it was the one gallon of milk per tote that got me…also, the order wasn’t enough to have them come and pick up. I definitely love their service and that they are always on time. I was freaked out at Christmas because I had a special order. They didn’t cancel till the night of the 23rd. I had a nervous breakdown and a relative with a 4 wheel drive went to the store and got what I needed and delivered Christmas morning for our dinner (that 21 people somehow made it to coming from Redmond, Bothell and Everett, I’m hoping was a testament to my cooking?..)
