    Now is your opportunity to work virtually for a dynamic and progressive accounting firm. Nordstrom Virtual Office (www.nordstromvirtualoffice.com) (NVO) provides back office (primarily accounting) services remotely for small- to medium-sized companies around the world. The Accounting Manager oversees the basic accounting functions of the accounting staff and assists with the preparation of forecast and projections, prepares most of the annual income tax workpapers and performs various other financial and accounting projects.

    Primary Responsibilities for NVO Clients:
     Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements on an accrual (GAAP) basis
     Assist in the preparation of forecasts and projections
     Prepare monthly management compensation reports
     Assist in preparation of financial statement reconciliations
     Oversee and assist in the preparation of annual income tax workpapers; liaison with tax accountants
     Prepare intercompany billings, bank and wire transfers
     Prepare and use complex Excel reports
     Supervise accounting staff
     High level of client contact
     Other duties and special projects as assigned

    Required Qualifications:
    The ideal candidate is responsible, disciplined, highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to prioritize and work with little guidance.
    • Accounting degree and several years of experience, CPA preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment while working remotely
    • Experience with software (currently Excel, Word, Outlook, QuickBooks). High level of Excel experience required – macros, pivot tables, file protection methods, formulas, data manipulation
    • Current on accounting standards and reporting requirements
    • Technologically savvy
    • Willingness to comply with established policies and procedures, suggesting improvements on an on-going basis
    • Able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
    • Thorough knowledge of financial statements and understand debits and credits and the concept of checks and balances
    • Supervisory experience
