furryfacesParticipantOur 15th Annual Plant Sale is the third weekend of May. A large percentage of our inventory comes from people like you.
Help this be an super successful fundraiser by donating plants. If you end up dividing any plants while gardening, Furry Faces Foundation would love to accept your extra plants for our Plant Sale. This is one of our biggest fundraisers and you can help by dividing your perennials, bulbs, etc.
We have pots you can use for your divisions. Just pick them up at 3809 46th Ave SW. They are located under our Ventana Plant Terrace tables, located on the south side of the house. Plants may be dropped off at the same address, in the front yard.
There are some plants we are unable to accept either because they are invasive or after 15 years of experience, we have found that they don’t sell. We don’t want you to spend your precious time and energy on potting up these items:
1) Invasive species such as St. John’s Wort and Butterfly bushes
2) Plants that don’t sell well or at all
a. Day Lilies
b. Tree starts
c. Rhodies
d. Rose bushes
e. Common purple irises
Thank you for thinking of of!

KatherineLParticipantHow about viola adunca, lavender/pink? It does spread, but not too fast. Good ground cover in shaded and woody areas.

KatherineLParticipantFurryfaces, I don’t see the sale on the Blog calendar yet. Is it both days that weekend? What hours? I’d like to note it on my calendar.
Thanks.

cbofParticipantI have a very hearty, still-on-the-small-side, Oregon lilac bush. It’s currently blooming, but I was considering trying to re-home it at some point. Think this would be a good opportunity?

KatherineLParticipantWhat’s the difference between an Oregon lilac bush and the purple or white ones in Seattle, cbof?
April 28, 2015 at 7:47 pm #823603
cbofParticipantIt looks more like this. Very small flowers, more tightly packed, small leaves. Though now that I look at this more closely, I’m not 100% sure it’s what I have…

KatherineLParticipantThat looks like the plain old ceanothus I have in my yard. A different kind of bush from lilacs, but Wikipedia says they’re also called California lilac and wild lilac.
Ceanothus gets to be pretty big, but bees love the flowers. It blooms a long time. FYI, Wikipedia also says porcupines like to eat the stems and seeds. Just in case your porcupine is getting hungry.

furryfacesParticipantJust a reminder that we take plants all year long.
Also, we will be having another sale in a few weeks.
Cheers,
The F3 Gang
