I got a call from 678-971-2266 from a woman with a garbled name. She demanded that I call her office – didn’t say what her office was – immediately, as a complaint had been filed against me. She didn’t say what kind of complaint.

I checked online. That number is from Georgia. They’re calling all over the U.S. Same message.

Yes please just talk to your neighbor. Personally I would have really appreciated a note even. Instead one of my neighbors called parking enforcement about our car parked in front of our own house and we got two tickets in two days, each over fifty dollars! Yes it hadn’t moved in a couple of months but it’s not a jalopy and it was in front of our own house!

I’m fostering a very sweet dachshund chihuahua mix named Gibson. Gibson is 7, which is about human equivalent of 40s for this mix. He is housebroken, neutered, and chipped. He is current on all his major vaccines. He comes with his little blankies, which he loves to nest under, a bed, leash, food bowl, and some food.

He’s a good little man and wants nothing more than to hang out with you–either on your lap or curled up on the floor. He’s good with other dogs (there is some pack dynamics). He wants a buddy to play with. His old companion found a new home. Kids would be fine as long as they’re 6+ and respectful of his space. He’s really tired of my toddler, so not a great fit with young ones.

He would be an awesome dog for a retiree who is taking it easy and likes to watch lots of TV. Or a young couple. Or a work-from-home programmer or gamer. Anyone who is around a fair amount. He’s not destructive when I leave, he just really misses me.

He came from a young man who had just had twins and was in the process of moving with no assurance of pet-friendly housing. His owner was incredibly sad, so I offered to help and would really, really like to find him an equally loving home. SOON! I’ve got my hands full with a bad back, little kiddos, and my own quota of furballs, so if anyone can reach out and contact dog-friendly people who fit the bill, I would be most grateful. Email: scarabaracs at yahoodotcom
Or reply here w your info. (I need some way of verifying that the situation is safe for him.) Thanks Neighbors!

138,548 miles, some body damage & rust spots, have most service records dating back almost 5 years. I bought the car used back in 2007 and have only put 60,000 miles on it since.

Ben at Complete Auto Repair here is West Seattle has been my mechanic since I moved here in 2011 from Bremerton.

It does need new brakes (about $250-$300) as the front right brake pad is rubbing on the sensor.

Great little get-around-town type of a car. :)

One Mountain Buggy 3 wheel stroller in great shape! Recently replaced the rear wheels & inner tubes as well for many more miles of travel. Includes a clear plastic cover (shown in photos) for rain, as well as a second mesh cover for sun / insect / random stranger protection. Both covers were purchased from Mountain Buggy so they fit perfectly. Stroller rolls smoothly over normal terrain & trail conditions with ease (tested on the trails of Schmitz Park). Stroller has always been stored indoors, so no exposure damage to be found.

    FieldSup,

You may have good intentions, but it for me and likely others its a little too late. I was a customer for 20 years. Then I spent the better part of 8 months trying to get my billing straightened out after some ‘field guy’ told me my slow internet could not be fixed, but I could sign-up for high speed internet. He showed where it had been installed, offered to have someone call. Unfortunately I bought the song and dance – and paid more than I was told it would be for 8 months trying to get the billing corrected. Each time I received a new bill and called it took 2,3, o4 4 calls why because my calls kept getting mysteriously dropped. And no one could seem to see the history of my prior calls, I would have to start at the beginning, by the time I cancelled it was a pretty long story, since it included all the previous attempts to correct the problem.

One day my internet was out, I called that problem in and was told someone would be out the following day. Nope, 2 days later my phone wasn’t working either. That was the straw, that broke that back of my relationship with CL.

What needs to happen is CL needs to honor the agreements that they make with people. They need to call customers if they are not going to keep an appointment and they need to fix their obviously broken customer service policies/department/??. I probably talked to at least a dozen different people over the course of those 8 months. This isn’t a bad employee, this is a bad system/company. When I called to cancel, they wanted to know what they could do to keep my account. Well they could have actually delivered what was promised when I signed up for the high speed. They could have been responsive to any of those phone calls trying to get it sorted out, But instead all I got was the run around. I don’t pretend to know what happened to CL, I just know they have serious internal issues and need to resolve them.

We have a free sectional L 102″ H 27″ and D at deepest portion 78″. The couch is pretty lumpy and has been loved by dogs and cats (think scratch marks, not bathroom activities), but would be great for a rec room for kids, a college house, etc. Pretty comfortable to sleep on. Pillows come with and covers can be removed and washed. Photos here: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/5586129405.html. We’re happy to help you load this.

We also have a free Toshiba 27″ TV. It works just fine, with working remote. It’s a heavy, bulky one and you will need 2 people to haul. Photos here: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/5582494525.html.

Thank you to all who came to my rescue yesterday morning when I tripped and fell on my face in the Junction. You picked me up, stopped the bleeding, brushed me off, brought me ice & a bandage, convinced me to go to Urgent Care and even drove me there. I am in awe of your compassion and generosity. You turned a painful experience into one I will remember fondly. Thank you for your kindness!

Hey everyone, wanted to alert Arbor Heights neighbors about a strange guy zigzagging back and forth across the street. We are on 104th and 31st, he wandered up 104th, very erratic behavior, not screaming or anything but a lot of physical tics and nonsensical movements–clearly appeared to be under the influence of drugs or more. I attempted to call the nonemergency line for SPD but they should rename that the “waste of time line” because none of the menu items are about speaking to a human or reporting suspicious behavior (even though they want us to report the stuff)…alas, lock your doors and be alert. Have a safe evening everyone!

The above from Todd is a tactic businesses use when dealing with complaints: ask the unhappy customer to take the conversation offline. Todd would like people to stop airing their grievances here, in a public forum, because a. it prompts other people to join in and share their own experiences, and b. these comments can be found by search engines, adding to the negative information available online.

What Todd should do is to address these concerns here, in public. He should acknowledge and reply to each of the complaints above with specific answers. And those who do contact him directly should report back here whether, and how, he was able to solve their issues.

You’ll get a nice bedroom with a large double closet and two big windows. Your half of the rent would be $575/mo, water is paid by owner (electricity, garbage, and internet are paid by us). Upper floor of secluded duplex, vaulted ceilings, wooden floors throughout, large yard and patio, wood burning fireplace, and stacked washer/drier in the bathroom. Must be clean, friendly, stress free, and an animal lover. Bedroom is unfurnished but the rest of the apt is. You get your own parking space in the carport. Located close to South Park where 99 & 509 split. A STEAL!!!

    Greetings –
I’m not sure if this is the right platform to discuss this issue but I thought I’d send it in.
I am a resident of the 59th and alki block and I am fed up with the lack of police presence on this block during peak busy hours on alki. There was a shooting just a couple weeks ago right next to my building (last year as well). The aggressive crowds are getting worse and worse and always seem to congregate right in front of the house I rent. Groups of 10-20 young males usually hang out and try to pick fights with anyone who walks by. People speed over 40 on our slow residential streets and it feels extremely unsafe. Items are routinely stolen off of my porch, people illegally park in our parking and the noise is out of hand. If that wasn’t bad enough my entire block is getting torn down to build commercial spaces and condos. Pretty soon no one but the wealthy will be able to afford to live on this beach, which is quickly losing its original charm.
The straw the broke the camels back came yesterday around lunchtime when I was taking my injured cat to the vet. I pulled out of my driveway and in less than 50 feet a cop flipped a u turn- turned their lights on and pulled me over for not wearing my seatbelt. I explained that I was literally 20 feet away from my driveway with an injured pet in the car and officer Deborah brooks (#4438) proceeded to make me wait while she wrote me a $140 dollar ticket.
Where are the police during peak times ? Where are the police when all of the cars on my block are blaring their car alarms because of people driving by blasting music so loud that it sets them off . Where are they when people are drinking and using drugs on the sidewalk in front of my house ? When large groups are picking fights with innocent pedestrians ? Or when shootings occur ? No where to be found. But lunch time on a weekday they are found harassing residents who are harming no one. I can barely afford to live on alki as it stands now, barely afford to take my cat to the vet- but instead of being a decent person and giving me a warning- she made me sit in the hot car while my poor kitty was screaming in the carrier. Literally right outside of my house.
That isn’t helping the public. That’s harassing and unhelpful. I would like to send a message to the police force of west Seattle and say I am very upset and disappointed. Looks like I’ll be moving out of this city once they tear down my place .

Thank you, if this is any interest to you or the readers I hope it helps highlight a few troubling trends we as residents are experiencing in this area
