Dr. Okorn at Swedish in West Seattle is my general practice doctor but she does obstetrics as well. I have been very happy with her.

HMC Rich….oh, and I don’t want to forget this. Again, substitute the name Clinton for Trump in this…and think if you would actually support this candidate for president. And ask yourself “why?”

a question I have…when did it become such a sin to go the posted speed limit…it seems there are people who think that’s wrong…I guess I just don’t get it. Should we just take the speed limit signs down? Yes, someone will come back and say it’s just a suggested speed limit…well, when you get stopped for going 10 miles over the “suggested” speed limit, tell that to the sympathetic cop.. The odds are you won’t get stopped…but it CAN happen…it did to me… #moneyIdonthave

    Smitty, welcome back !

Yes, the warmists like to crow about the warmest ( month, year, decade ) since that 1800’s date, they seem to conveniently misplace what has been going on in the Earths history over the past 100 million years.

Your on the correct side of current climate science – you must not be a graduate of Seattle public schools !

JTB needs a redo on reading skills. Did he NOT notice that the word ” acceleration ” is in BOLD ? ?

Just maybe the rise, measured in millimeters, is NOT Accelerating !

Hey Plant Food, my reading of the NOAA map indicates you are mistaken in your comment about no increase in the rate of sea level rise anywhere on the coastal USA.

And of course, we’re concerned with more than the USA in considering climate change and sea level rise, or at least many of us are.

It’s also interesting to note how the researchers factor in geological variations in assessing tidal sea level changes over time.

So many people on this forum beg the US to be “more like Europe”….well…..if you’ve ever driven in Europe you DO NOT go the speed limit in the left lane. You just don’t. They don;t have signs, it is just KNOWN.

    Be like Europe!

As the last couple posts have pointed out, it is NOT okay (also not funny or cool) to purposefully block people from passing you. On freeways, where “stay right except to pass” is in force, it is absolutely illegal. If you are not a law enforcement officer then it is not your job to enforce the speed limit. It is also a fantastic way to spur road rage, which can escalate into very dangerous situations. Frustrated drivers may doing something even more dangerous than traveling above the speed limit because you blocked them, and engaging in that behavior makes you part of the problem. Instead, please just move over and let people by you if it’s safe to do so, take a deep breath and move on with your day just as the person who you let by will do.

Hey Sbone…looks like you havent been here in a while, but your evaluation is SPOT on. Don’t know how long some of these other “regular” posters have been here. BUT I can say that many of the moral compasses are very skewed in the “self” direction…As in – ‘what i say is correct and i am going to MAKE you acquiesce”
People so sad with their day to day lives, they must come here and metastasize their disdain…
Stick around – they’ll probably respond to this post…or take a look at some of the other posts (especially politically related) and they become apparent…..

1st: the stock market is not indicative of the health of a nation or its economy there are far more indicators. It’s indicative of the stock market and trading.

2nd: the tendency to attack “liberals” rather than their ideals and on a factual basis rather than an emotional basis makes it easy to dismiss their ranting.

Let me lay some knowledge on ya. Democratic presidents, with few exceptions, have left the country in better condition than republicans. To stick with recent history, Clinton and Obama lowered the deficit (current reporting is that Obama has managed to lower the deficit by more that a 1 trillion dollars from a little more than 1.4T to 400Bn [CBO]. Clinton shrunk to -$127Bn, that’s a 127Bn surplus, which Bush then used to write checks to all of us taxpayers prior to the deficit and debt plummeting to the lowest level ever faster than ever. Reagan and Bush I increased the deficit more than any president in histroy up until that point en toto. Additionally, Reagan, that paragon of republican presidents, RAISED taxes, as did Bush I.

As for Obamacare (also known as the Affordable Care Act) this plan was originally proposed by Nixon, then Bob Dole prior to it being put in place by Obama and a democratic congress. Keep in mind that this plan requires citizens to purchase health insurance (not healthcare) from private for profit companies. Talk about a boon to the insurance industry!

Regarding the violence and other campaign shenanigans: This violence is perpetrated by individuals, not campaigns. That said, Trump is the only one that employs explicitly violent rhetoric and encourages acts of violence by members of his audience against protesters. I’ve not heard Hillary or Bernie make similar statements and Ipay close attention to these elections. While I’m sick unto death of this election as it’s been going on for about 100 years, I’ve only heard patently ridiculous statements from Trump. As to investigations for criminal activity Hillary and Trump are both being heavily investigated.

    hey, Rich…
In these three links…read the stories, but substitute the name Clinton (as in Hillary) every time it says “Trump”…that’s the only change..the rest remains the same. How do you feel about this person as president material?

and…I always thought you were smarter than using “socialist” as a euphemism for perhaps communism…you and I both know it ain’t true…and it’s Democratic socialism…as in FDR, who had 4 terms as president (for those younguns out there, there didn’t used to be term limits for prez). And smart ass comments about us Admiral District people, too…my how you’ve changed…(Capt. Dave doesn’t get a pass…he needs to educate himself instead of making comments like he did) Y’all do know that every time you drive on a public road, you’re participating in socialism….right? RIGHT?

By the way, George Bush was a Republican who led the party for eight years. You can google that too.

Hilarious that anyone would call David Frum a “devout liberal pundit” – just google the guy’s name. He was George Bush’s main speechwriter, for one.

I am glad that common sense is beginning to prevail across the county as the silent majority wakes up to the reality of our circumstances. Maybe by this time next year we will see crooked Hillary in prison and comrade Bernie exiled to Venezuela?

So it’s ok that Obama blew through every constitutional “guardrail” he encountered to fundamentally change America into a progressive utopia? What is it that we are “progressing” towards anyway? 7.5 years later, the Obama administration has double our debt and all but destroyed our ability to produce anything. Progressive policies have put this nation on the verge of imminent economic collapse and racial civil war. …And a moron at the Atlantic want’s to expound some senseless drivel about Trump not fitting in with failed establishment? WTF?

“…What’s different now is the massive Republican and conservative rejection of the idea that a candidate for president should know anything substantive about governing at all..” –– Well, because the government is systemically failing to do its job. Intricate knowledge about a failing systems is really not very useful. What is more important, is returning the country to processes that have a proven track record of working.

This was my favorite line that illustrates the extent of stupidity expounded by devout liberal pundits: ” Trump is running not to be president of all Americans, but to be the clan leader of white Americans.” —What’s that say about the millions of black, latino, and asian voters who support Trump?

“…Yet overhanging all the causes is the central question: Why did Republicans and conservatives react to those causes as they did? There were alternatives. Of all the alternatives for their post-Obama future, Republicans and conservatives selected the most self-destructive of the options before them. Why? What went wrong?”

On the contrary, Republicans across the nation threw the rigged game board on the floor and selected a candidate that can actually win.

Smitty drops by to discuss sea level rise …. oh, wait – he has nothing !

Well, as a matter of current climate science, yes, the Earth has been warming.

In part, the planet warms as a recovery event from the recent little ice age.

In part, the planet warms as a result of the two most recent El Nino episodes.

And, let us not forget those ” climate forcings ” the dreaded IPCC wrings their hands over.

Now Smitty, perhaps you can cite current science with respect to what part in all of this the ” human footprint ” may be responsible for ?

IF it is the warmest year ever, can you consider what the margin of error in your wild statement might be ? NASA / NOAA have, however these are the sort of additional details they like to bury in their fine print.

You ARE referencing data from the USHCRN, aren’t you Smitty ?

    Smitty ?

Please help me understand. A couple of you are advocating and promoting breaking the law and taking the law into your own hands by driving slow in the left hand lane because you feel you have the right to slow somebody else down. Why do you even care? How do you know it’s not an emergency situation and you are in the way? Do you also block joggers when they try to pass you out on a walk? Have you ever heard of the saying, “two wrongs do not make a right”?

are you worried/scared/frustrated yet? Paul Ryan said that he will vote for Trump. ““I feel confident he would help us turn the ideas in this agenda into laws to help improve people’s lives. That’s why I’ll be voting for him this fall,” Ryan writes in the Op-Ed.” Yeah, right….can you tell I’m a bit cynical about all this?
