    ABOUT THE BRIDGE SCHOOL

The Bridge School is an independent, cooperative elementary school serving ages 5-11 (grades K-5). Located in White Center, WA. We are a small school of under 30 students with a close-knit, supportive school community. Our mission is to provide a progressive elementary program that fosters authentic learning through whole child development. We foster values of community, confidence, creativity and curiosity through interdisciplinary, multi-age, experiential learning in small class sizes. All students engage weekly in visual and performing arts, special topic enrichment classes, and regular school-wide community meetings. One full day per week, Outdoor Education Specialists take students’ learning outside our four walls and to Seahurst Park in Burien, WA. As a cooperative school, each child and caregiver has a role to play in building a strong learning community; families participate in all aspects of school operations, utilizing their unique skills both in and outside the classroom. To learn more about us, please go to our website: http://www.BridgeSchoolCoop.org.

    JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a part-time classroom teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The primary responsibility of the teacher in this role is delivering academic subjects of Language Arts and Mathematics to a class of 10 students, grades 3-5 from 8:30-12noon T/W/Th. In the afternoon 1-3pm, the teacher will partner with art, science, or physical education specialists to provide small group instruction to groups of 8-10 students, grouped by age K-2 and 3-5, in 45 minute blocks. Afternoons focus on hands-on experiences in arts, STEM, SEL, academic interventions, and equity-based curriculum.

    ABOUT OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Our core classroom teachers are in the classroom 8:30 am-3:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays, students explore and learn at Seahurst Park with our Outdoor Education specialists. On Fridays, students engage in Creative Enrichment curriculum (arts & sciences) for a half-day with Arts Specialists. Options for Core Classroom teachers to teach Fridays may exist depending upon subject expertise and staffing levels. As a small school, we aspire to leverage each teacher’s expertise and specialized skills which can in practice look like co-teaching, crossover classes, and flexible, nimble partnerships between classrooms.

    OUR APPROACH TO EDUCATION
All teachers work with multi-age classrooms and we expect interdisciplinary, differentiated, and emergent project-based approaches. Teaching at The Bridge School best fits those who flourish with creative freedom with curriculum and teaching techniques. We are looking for someone who is neurodiversity affirming and excited to support trans and nonbinary students. Educators with a background in multi-age settings, hands-on & project based methods, a commitment to equity and inclusion, passion for diverse approaches to learning, and an attitude of flexibility and collaboration will thrive as a member of the Bridge School team. I know Efesis took a hit when new owners changed it to Greek, and not very good Greek at that.
The good news is Hasan, who owns the building, is back at the helm.
We have gone several times and loved it.
And we have been one of just a couple of tables!
We went on a Friday night and there were only two other tables!
So, please if you liked Efesis in the past, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Support our local businesses.

I find that I’m not drinking as much wine anymore so I am trying to find a home for some unopened 3-packs of Cayuse and Horsepower wine. All were direct allocations from the respective vineyards and have been cellared and carefully handled since delivery.

I’ve looked into some online consignment possibilities but with all of the fees and shipping logistics those options don’t seem so appealing. So I thought I might start locally. If anyone is interested just let me know and I’m happy to send along a list of what’s available.

Note: These are all $70+ bottles so serious inquiries only. And I will be securing an accommodation sale license from Olympia so that everything is above board.

I went through something similar but the nice dog attacked my dog. If you know exactly where the person with the dog lives you can call Animal control and file a report. They will follow up and visit owner, that person will be liable for not controlling their dog and can be fined, they will also be fined if their dog does not have up to date rabies shots and is also not licensed within the city. Also making an official record means you can have them reimburse you for any doctor visits or bills pertaining to the issue. It sounds like you might be in an apartment from your description, so your landlord should be able to provide the right information to the police. File a report!

Happened to me in 2010. I have been reading “the blog” since they started. Plenty of other incidents shared by victims or reported by the editor over the years. I have reported all issues I personally experience and read about, to Animal Control. Nothing changes /people keep getting away with it. West Seattle’s dirty little secret. When will it end? So called nice area with great sense of community 🤣

Once a dog bites someone and causes injury, they should go to a farm upstate IMO; regardless of how nice their owner insists they are.

The world, and Seattle in particular, has become far too passive when it comes to pushing back on dog owners for breaking the laws. Every day I see dogs on a beach, in a park that explicitly says ‘no dogs’, or on a seat in a bus.

Unpopular or not, please remember that dogs are, in fact, NOT PEOPLE.

Smartphone literacy for time tracking, photos, and basic app-based communication.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolds, and work on your feet throughout the project.
If joining as 1099 independent contractor:
You bring your own business license, general liability insurance, and bond.
    You bring your own tools

    Nice to Have:
OSHA‑10/30, First Aid/CPR; experience with residential remodels/occupied spaces.

We’re a family of four looking for a part-time housekeeper in Highland Park. For the past few years we’ve been lucky to have the services of an awesome neighbor who we met through WSB, and we’re hoping lightning can strike twice! We prefer another awesome individual versus a cleaning service.

    Duties:
    – General light housekeeping like washing dishes, tidying, folding laundry, taking out trash/compost/recycling, etc
    – Regular cleaning tasks like bathrooms, floors, and mirrors, etc
    – Occasional deeper cleaning tasks like wiping cabinets and baseboards, cleaning appliances, bathrooms and the kitchen deeper cleans, etc
    – Other tasks as mutually agreed upon

    Details:
    – Four people (one adult man, one adult woman, two teen boys) and a small/medium sized, very gentle, non-shedding dog
    – 1700 square feet divided between a main house and a DADU
    – 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 kitchenette

    Pay: $25/hour, paid weekly

Hours: Likely at least 6-10 per week to get the job done well, but flexible if you have a different number of hours in mind

Schedule: At least 2 days per week, Mon/Thu preferred, but flexible on both days and times of day as your schedule permits.

Contact hphousekeeper@icloud.com and let us know:
    – Your name
    – Your phone number and email
    – Your experience with housekeeping (even if just in your own home)
    – What appeals to you about the job, what caught your eye
    – Your favorite lunch spot in/near West Seattle

    Hi all,

My lease is up and I’ll be moving at the end of October. Combing through and refreshing 10 websites per day is as demoralizing and exhausting as it sounds, so I’m trying my luck here.

I’m in my mid 30s, work in education, and have good credit and references. My needs are basically quiet, LGBTQ friendly, non-smokers, and everyone pays the rent on time. Hoping for the Delridge/Riverview area, but anything close to the 128 line will work.

I’d love to connect with anyone who is seeking a house share. Are you looking for a punctual, responsible roommate? Know someone who is? Let’s talk!
