  • Our West Seattle location is looking to fill a part-time barista position! Weekend and afternoon availability is required.

Hourly rate: $20.76 + tips avg. extra $5-10/hour.

    About Caffe Ladro:
Now a Seattle coffee institution, Caffe Ladro opened our first location on Upper Queen Anne in 1994. People ask about the company name origin. Caffe Ladro is Italian for coffee thief. When we opened up right next to Starbucks and we intended to pinch their customers with the best Seattle coffee and staff we could find.
From the intimate vibe of that single café and bakery, we grew to fifteen locations (and still growing) in and around Seattle. Each Caffe Ladro maintains our superb Seattle coffee, signature friendly atmosphere, and freshly baked goods made by our own in-house bakery.
    Coffee Good:
To us, it is short-hand for the many connections we make through COFFEE with customers, staff, family, farmers, and buyers.
All of these people help make our world GOOD.
Ladro strives to make customers and employees feel this GOOD by roasting and serving COFFEE with profound care.

    Hello West Seattle,
Found Keys — ***Updated location where found.***
While out walking our dog Friday night July 4, my husband found a car key on the road/sidewalk in the vicinity of 39th Ave SW and SW Kenyon St. The car key was on a ring with a leather emblem hanging off it, in the shape of an identifiable insect. If you recently lost your car key in that area, please reach out. I’m not in Seattle right now, but I will get him the message – he has the key, in Gatewood, West Seattle. For verifiability and security purposes, first describe accurately the make of the car key as well as the leather insect. Thanks.

What you said makes a lot of sense. It sounded like a military bomb, it was so loud. My kid is a heavy sleeper and rarely wakes up in the middle of the night. The sound woke all of us up and he climbed into bed with us, saying his bed was shaking. :(

Yes. The same morons who set off fireworks bombs are combining them to make even bigger bombs. Often, they put them in garbage cans, which then creates the possibility of shrapnel. As if fireworks weren’t bad/dangerous enough, we are providing the public with abundant bomb-making materials. What could go wrong?

So I didn’t think to look at what time it was (no idea why I didn’t) but yes in the middle of the night I was just sitting doing whatever on my phone and almost jumped out of my chair when I heard a massive BANG. It sounded like it was right outside my window and, like you said, it was definitely not a firework, a blown transformer, gunshot etc. it was LOUD, and jarring. But the thing is, I live in downtown at 7th and Cherry st… It didn’t necessarily shake my room tho, so maybe it was closer to where you’re at then where I’m at. But I absolutely heard it, 2AM sounds about right even though I didn’t look at the clock. Also never heard any sirens afterwards which I thought was weird.

    Hello,

I live at 53rd and Admiral. Last night my family was awoken by a large explosion sound around 2.30 AM. It was so loud that my 8 yr old son said he bed was shaking. It was way louder than a car crash, firework, or gunshot. It sounded like a bomb. Did anyone else hear it?

    Thanks!

Anybody have info on where two of the four green/yellow cranes on the north side of the 1st Ave S bridge went? I noticed the cranes missing a few months ago. I haven’t been able to track it down.

The weather is perfect for gardening, composting too. Compost turns your kitchen scraps and yard waste into valuable living soil. Mature compost is full of beneficial microorganisms and mycelium. And there’s no better way than adding red wiggler worms!

Mature compost is like beer yeast, kombucha SCOBY, or sourdough starter. It speeds up the creation of valuable soil.

For $20 you get a 32 oz takeout container full of worms, worm eggs, and compost starter.

Hello, a few days ago, two brown chickens started roosting in my yard.

Unfortunately, a raccoon got to one of them the other night. I’ve contacted local shelters but they won’t help trap or take her in. Rooster Haus does not have space for this one either.

Is anyone missing a chicken? Is anyone able to capture and re-home her?

Overwhelmed working dad seeks help with household chores. The home is ~2.5k sqft , 3 adults and 1 child. The other 2 adults are disabled and not always able to contribute meaningfully to certain chores. Would love to find someone in Alki/Admiral area to help with regular cleaning and organizing. Kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, dusting, toys, etc.

Thinking maybe 8 hours per week $30 per hour. Happy to negotiate those and feel it out.

Clearly King County Metro is unwilling to give us the service we want in the Admiral District. I ask everyone in the Admiral District who wants all-day 56/57 to go on a peaceful protest. We are sick of waiting for 56/57 service only for it to be reduced further!!! I’m personally very angry with King County for this. They know how much we want more service in the Admiral District! I think they’re going to need more pressure to actually address it anytime soon. Otherwise we’ll likely be waiting at least until 2032 for the light rail extension to be complete.

I know there are plans to redirect the H Line into the Admiral District, but that’s too far into the future. We need more direct service before then!

This is the March 2025 service change. It was an outrage to cut another 56. I know so many of you were unhappy about it. I think if we protest, they might actually comply to us.

Two West Seattle routes lose trips, one gains trips for Metro’s next service change March 29

Whatever you do, DO NOT MAKE A HARSH REPLY! I will be very unhappy if you do that, especially if you’re arguing against this!
