I am a 22-year massage therapist and I am looking for one or two LMPs to learn and grow (aka “work”) with me in my beautiful treatment room in West Seattle. The room is spacious and has all new equipment including a Comfort Craft electric table with traction seam (yes, that’s right ), hydrocollator, hot stones/heater and steam towel cabinet. My practice is located inside an awesome fitness facility (not a gym) that mostly caters to women (but men are definitely clients too).

I am looking for a therapist interested in or experienced in Deep Tissue / Neuro Muscular Therapy; Hot Stone Therapy; and pre and post-Natal massage. If you are interested in learning about and practicing pre-Natal massage, and yoga, this is a perfect place for your massage practice.

The right therapist will be resourceful, reliable, responsible, experienced or not (graduates considered), willing to learn, have an established client base or willing to build one, communicative, kind, and hopefully, have a healthy sense of humor! I am also considering Graduates in a sort of “mentorship” where you will learn advanced massage techniques and receive (free) trainings / workshops, and work side by side with me. Appropriate CE courses will be part of your compensation and some of these, we may even take together. West Seattle or nearby residents are preferred, but it is not required.

Hours are flexible and dependent upon your requirements. I am looking for sub-contractors who will earn well above average commissions and local rates. Therapists who want to earn very good money, who want to build their own practice with my help and help of my already busy practice (within a facility with a large established client base who want your services!); someone who can handle my roll-over appointments and take over my client base when I travel for the summer. (I have another “job” in massage where I travel the world…ask me about it if you like…). Start date would be Feb/March or as soon as you’d like to have hours.

If you are interested in learning and becoming an amazing therapist, or you already ARE an amazing therapist, and you want to grow your business by leaps and bounds, please contact me asap. This really is a fantastic opportunity for the right therapist!

    Thank you!

Weather in Seatle requires some special socks, believe me. You should get a pair of Compression Socks, which will keep your feet warm and will not allow you to catch a cold. Hope it will help you, good luck!

There is always the debate on whether to walk on the shoveled area(ice danger) or the shoveled area. If the sidewalk is shoveled, walkers have the choice to walk where they feel safest, right? (I am pro-choice!). As many shovelers have noticed, it is easier to shovel before walkers go through, and the afternoon weather often does a great job of getting it down to bare sidewalk. There are now lots of sidewalks with uneven icy terrain because no one took care of them from the first day. I hope those of us who have to get to bus/main road for rides to work can do so safely. Allow extra time to navigate the sidewalks and if you get there late, at least you got there!
And let’s get those steps cleared of ice and snow for safe mail delivery! Kids out of school can be making a couple of bucks around the neighborhood…or just doing good deeds(with neighbor’s blessing and parental permission)

Growing up in Michigan, everybody shoveled. I’ve done one full and one partial shovel so far in the last few days, despite being over 65 and with bad knees and back. It is the law, as webshaf pointed out. The one caution I would make is that the shoveled areas are often more dangerous than the unshoveled spots, especially where the grade is steep. Walking in soft, uncompacted snow is probably safer, as the bare and/or compacted areas quickly ice over. Don’t mean to sound condescending, but there do seem to be a lot of people around here with little or no snow or ice experience. A broken tailbone is no fun!

Hello! I think I lost my keys yesterday at Lincoln park playing in the snow. It is key ring with 2 keys (one house key, I believe has UW design. One Subaru key) and a Subaru key fob. On the key ring there is also a plastic lace keychain (the ones people make at camp). I was at the baseball field, as well as down by the water walking along the beach.

Not the best day for a “garage sale”, but we’re about to move. Furniture, books, kitchen stuff, miscellaneous. No reasonable offer refused.

Hip hip hooray for all the west Seattle shovelers…we are small minority. Double cheers for those who clear neighbor’s walks and keep an eye out for elderly or disabled who cannot do it. Want to join our minority? Borrow a shovel from a neighbor…if you have an older neighbor, they probably have a shovel to loan if you do the courtesy of shoveling for them too. BTW, it is the law. Seattle municipal code sec. 15.48.010. This will be going on for awhile, so consider it your workout.

Nah, not really. I personally wasn’t surprised by Patty Murray’s vote. And I have to guess many Seattle and west side voters support her. I didn’t on this vote but to those who might remember me on these pages, they would not be surprised.

I find Virginia’s problems like a political drama. Charges of insensitivity, racism, sexual assault. I just think all three of the men involved will never gain a higher office due to what did or what may transpire in their political futures. I was in college at about the same years the Governor went. I saw many costumes in college but never anything like those photos.

To anyone who attended Saturday’s Viaduct Celebration. I am hoping to get two photos that I missed, because my phone lost charge: a photo of the southern most end of the viaduct (basically end of the line) and a photo of a mock traffic sign “caution nostalgia ahead”. If you took either or both of these photos and would like to share, I would be appreciative. Thanks!

    Hello,
Termites cause billions of dollars in harm every year in the U.S. They fundamentally feed on wood, yet in addition harm paper, books, protection, and notwithstanding pool liners and filtration frameworks. Termites can harm living trees and bushes, yet more frequently are an auxiliary intruder of woody plants as of now in decay. While termites may swarm structures whenever, they are especially pertinent when purchasing or moving a home since a termite review/invasion report is ordinarily a state of offer. Other than the money related effect, a huge number of winged termites developing inside one’s house are a candidly doing whatever it takes also the possibility of termites quietly devouring one’s biggest venture.

It’s there that you will find a contact email to send your resume, or get the the business address from the website and go in person to hand in your resume, or call and ask. Hi Everyone. You may or may not remember Furry Faces Foundation’s latest client – Dutches. She had a soft tissue ear sarcoma, so her entire outer ear needed to be removed. We wanted to provide an update about Dutches’ ear surgery.

    https://www.facebook.com/donate/1104506749727310/

*****Dutches Surgery Went Very Well****** Update Feb 6, 2019

Dutches’ surgery was today! Yay! She even got to home at about 5:30 today. Have not had a chance to speak with Dr. Kraabel, her DVM surgeon, so will provide another update – and hopefully photos – in the near future. Thanks everyone!

So far $1,388 has been raised via this fundraiser, checks, calls into Lien and a young lady’s birthday fundraiser for Dutches. Thank you to everyone that has donated. If you are comfortable sharing on your FB, email, twitter, etc., please do so as we are about $900 shy of total diagnostic and surgery costs.

As soon as we know how surgery and recovery went, we will provide an update

***Dutches Fundraiser Update – $1,005.00! *** End of January

We just received a donation from a young adult that has given her time to Furry Faces Foundation since she was 13 years old. For her birthday, she held a fundraiser for Dutches’ surgery, which raised $212.00. Then she donated another $100 of her hard earned $$s towards Dutches’ surgery. This young lady is our collective future…and it’s looking pretty darn bright. Thank you Ms. M.

A big thank you to everyone that has donated. We are hoping to raise the last $1,000 in the next two weeks. If you would like to contribute or know some you think would like to help out, please share this post with them!

    Cheers,
Ms. M and the rest of Furry Faces Foundation.

Edited to add… This should do the trick: from Google images, site:westseattleblog.com

Leaving in case it helps someone else.

I hope this is the right forum for this question…

Is there a gallery of photos sent in by readers posted with WSB stories? Or a way to search them? I don’t think these are in the WSB Instagram feed since they’re other people’s pictures. I frequently want to go back to a photo posted sometime in the past. Just scrolling through posts isn’t feasible. For example there was a post in the last month or so with an accompanying photo of a small birds with a red cap. I tried searching for red cap, bit I’m not sure the photo had a caption other than the photograph’s name. TIA.

Ponderosa. As someone who was taught to pay attention-I actually do. Traffic was such that nobody was speeding. Didn’t see anybody run a red light. I do pay attention to my surrounding’s-cycleists and pedestrians and car’s. Yes-car drivers do bad things on the road. They should be called out for it and ticketed if seen by law enforcement. In the spirit of full disclosure I also see bikes run red light’s/stop signs, swerve in front of car’s. not pay attention. I’ve seen plenty of ped’s that ignore do not walk signals and not look up from their phones, jaywalk etc. In case you’re wondering..in 47 years of driving-been in 2 minor fender bender’s-neither my fault-other driver’s ticketed. 3 traffic ticket’s-last on being in 2002.

I have a little bit of a gripe. It seems like anyone parking on Graham between California and 42nd and on California between Graham and Fauntleroy, have no idea how to park or space their cars. Constantly people are in the middle of two spots, parked too far from the signage, parked on the wrong side of signage, it’s an absolute nightmare trying to find somewhere to park over here. If everyone could have a little more common sense, it would be incredible.
