Andrea, Hillary and her style of campaigning are what’s wrong with the party, not those of us who dare to call her on it.
Just what does she have to do to convince you that she’s harming the party? She has essentially come out in favor of McCain over her own party’s leading candidate. She is using Rovian fear-based campaigning—do you think the independents and Republicans aren’t listening?
I wanted to be wrong about her and tried to see the good about her, but my instincts were right.

rs261MemberI’ve eaten there a couple of times, every time my food is WAY oversalted, its loud, and the tables are very close together. I think the food is OK personally, I just wish they’d cut back on the salt. They are super friendly though, and most of the other people at my table seemed to enjoy their meal. Me…I give it an enh. Not great, but not terrible. Will I go back? maybe…in time.

JohnMMemberI’ve lived in WS all of my life (excepting when I was in Navy). Went to Gatewood, Madison and WSHS, class of ’71. My children also graduated from Seattle Lutheran, Andrea (98 and 02). A lot has changed, but a lot remains the same…..both still live in WS.

andreaParticipantHow cool that you live next door to her Jan! I’m not so sure that I could do that with my own mom, but I think its wonderful that you’re so close (as in space :))…i remember her as being a free spirit and very astute and aware, so I’m sure your parenting played a great role in her wanting to stay so close to you. and its true, WS sucks you in and doesn’t let you leave (at least for very long!)
JoBParticipantKayleigh.. i know you are passionate… and i like that a lot..
but when did President Clinton become Hillary’s husband when we are referring to the responsibilities of the presidency?
And… what actually makes Obama more qualified than Bill Clinton was?
the propaganda of recent years may have made us believe that saying it made it so… but that doesn’t work for me.
what qualifies Obama? it’s still a valid question.

JanSParticipantandrea…the daughter left west seattle for a while, living in Belltown and then Magnolia. She moved back to WS this past December (actually into the apt. next to mine)…and I think she’s probably here for the duration. She’s seen the error of her ways :)

BonnieParticipantAndrea, I figured you were younger than him. I bet you had the same 1st grade teacher. I can’t think of her name but she’s still there! Mrs. Grunhagen or something like that. He said the he was in 1st grade was the her 1st year as a teacher.

andreaParticipantcool Bonnie! it is such a small community of people who went to school there, so I probably know him or at least who he is. I graduated from Hope in ’90 and SLHS in ’94.
JoBParticipantcharalabob..
if that was the liberal viewpoint…
i may have to join kayleigh in independence… i would be that po’d at the idea of anyone associating me with that…
That button and article does exactly what it accuses her of doing.
powerful image tho… good campaigning.
AnonymousInactiveJoB – I really wanted to be for Hillary, but her campaigning is what’s changing my mind. My only hesitancy over Obama has always been the experience thing, but he can surround himself with experience. Meanwhile, Hillary is sounding more like McCain. CharlaBob’s link kind of fits.
And I wasn’t implying before that republicans are for Obama, only that they aren’t adamantly against him. There is no way we can turn things around without working together. Who offers the best chance of that from either party?
March 11, 2008 at 5:42 pm #618283JanSParticipantdoes this mean we’ll have to join the chamber now? ;-)
I’m glad it’s happening…hey..think of all the business we’re giving the pub, too…a side effect :)

sanMemberBorn and raised! Bought our first home here almost a year ago, nothing could make me leave!
andreaParticipantFor the record, myself, my sister, my mother, and my right-bearing father are all big Hillary supporters. At my work, which is a federal government agency, I’d say half or more of the office is routing for Hillary (and not a one for GW btw!). JoB is not alone in her support of Hillary, I’m just not as vocal or eloquent as she is in her statements. Please realize Jo that I and many others that read this blog do appreciate and cheer on your ‘long missives defending her’. I cannot articulate enough how this hate on hate Democrat crime tick’s me off. I will be happy with either candidate on the Democratic ticket and will vote for whoever that is, but at this point Hillary is still my woman. Those of you out there who say that if Obama is not the man up for election you’ll go green and vote for Nader, or go altogether nuts and vote for McCain, are why the Democartic party is in the mess its been for the last 8 years.
March 11, 2008 at 5:36 pm #618282JoBParticipantIt’s amazing to me how helpful to me how helpful strangers have been..
in my mailbox this morning.. paul.. who donated the original purses.. let us know that he has asked to have the event mentioned at the chamber of commerce luncheon today.
thank you… this is turning out to be much more a cooperative forum members event than our little group of 6 would indicate.

AnonymousInactiver26 – Even if what you are doing is not “legal” (although, from what beachdrivegirl posted, looks like you are in the right), I won’t honk at you! Whenever there is a question, do what’s safe.
March 11, 2008 at 5:22 pm #617273In reply to: How long have you called West Seattle Home?
andreaParticipantI too am one of those rare breeds that was born and raised in WS. My brother, sister and I did the private school route, with Hope Lutheran elementary and Seattle Lutheran HS rounding us out to be the super cool adults we are today. I did 4+ years over in eastern WA as WSU for college (Go COUGS!!), but came back to WS afterward to start my post-grad life. My dad is a native West Seattlite also and is a ’60 grad of WSHS, as were his parents, my grandparents, who graduated from WSHS in ’30 and ’32.
There’s a joke in my family that once you settle in WS, it sucks you in and you can never leave…many have tried to move away, and they all come back to stay, realizing this is where its at! :)
March 11, 2008 at 5:20 pm #617228In reply to: La Rustica is good, but frustrating
BernickiMemberPeople rave about La Rustica, including my husband. Imagine his surprise when he wanted to go out to dinner, suggested La Rustica, and I hesitated. I sincerely apologize if this offends anyone who loves La Rustica (and I know there are many), but I just don’t see the appeal. I’ve been there about five times now. I don’t like the crammed-in feeling from the crowded tables. The last time we went there, we could barely have our own conversation; the people at the closest two tables were speaking normally, but they were literally at our elbows. And, despite all the people, it always seems to be cold in there. I’ve never ordered anything there that has transported me into raptures of yumminess. WHat am I missing?
charlabobParticipantAnd then there’s this option — for a (maybe)bright (not)shiny (NOT)new America:
http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/editorblog/062
Buzzflash is another good source of fair and balanced, ‘er “Liberal Propaganda”.
KayleighMemberJoB, Obama’s as qualified as Hillary’s husband was (in fact, more so.) Thinking people know this; even Hillary knows this. He’s plenty qualified, and only her ruthlessness and blind ambition prevent her from admitting it. And even if I decided he wasn’t qualified in my opinion, I still wouldn’t vote for Hillary.
I almost hope she keeps this nonsense up; it will give me an excuse to stop contributing to the Democratic party altogether and start calling myself an Independent.
Yes, I am that POed at her.
