I think it is probably more complicated than that , but it is an interesting idea. We had a very stressful summer last year and first week of school waiting to find out whether we got into an option school in first grade. Even though we knew that there would be two spaces available because two kids had left the school, the district would not open the spaces until after school started. I feel for other families in this situation because it is incredibly stressful not knowing. Maybe see if you can get a hold of a management type at enrollment services and ask this question. Do not, I repeat, do not, attempt to discuss this with the fist line people in enrollment. You will find yourself very frustrated! Good luck.
