WSrat, I recommend that you look down – you can see the contact pad that detects the presence of a vehicle. Its usually closer to the center of the lane. These pads are sensitive enough to be tripped by a bike – but since bikes are usually to the side, often that doesn’t happen.
On routes that are particularly heavily used by bikes, the intersections often have a contact pad specifically for the bikes, so that cyclists don’t need to pull onto the vehicle pad.
So in my experience, I can’t remember the last time I had the problem you speak of, and I’ve been riding here for 12 years now.
