We all know we’re dying — it’s just that Jan Campbell can better predict when it’ll happen for her. Since receiving a diagnosis of Stage 4B Ovarian Cancer in March of 2020. Jan has deepened her sense of humor, spirituality, and purpose — and now she’s on a mission to share what it’s like to look death in the eye, and smile. Her new motto: “If you can talk about it, you can manage it.”
In this interactive, conversational event, you’ll be prompted to think through end-of-life transitions alongside Jan and Laura Sullivan Cassidy, who leads outreach at Recompose, where Jan has pre-arranged for an environmental form of deathcare known as human composting. As they share Jan’s story and Recompose’s offerings, Jan and Laura will share ideas of legacy, fear, outrage, and acceptance — as well as Jan’s decision to register with End of Life Washington and prepare to utilize Medical Aid In Dying.
