Chorando na Chuva (Crying in the Rain) has performed around the Pacific Northwest since 2010, beginning under the name Choro Tocando. They host the monthly roda de choro, now in its 12th year, and also frequently perform or offer workshops and rodas at BrasilFest and Northwest Folklife festivals. Although Brazilian choro music is the heart of Chorando na Chuva’s polished performance, the group also mixes it up with baião, samba, and maxixe to kick up a toe-tapping beat. Add more than a bit of song, and it’s a great time. Band regulars KTzinha (vocals and flute), Paul Korsmo (vocals and 7-string guitar, and Wayne Organ (percussion) are joined by guest Wayne Clark (violin, bandolim and percussion).

Pure Flavor Presents The Complete String Quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven: Concert 1

String Quartet No. 7 in F Major, Opus 59, no. 1 (1808) by Ludwig van Beethoven

Pure Flavor is a Seattle-based string quartet dedicated to performing both traditional and
experimental music. After forming in 2021, they have performed the world premieres of two
string quartets by Charles Corey, Passage (2021) and Nocturne (2023), in addition to the music
of Yaz Lancaster, Maurice Ravel and Ludwig van Beethoven. At the request of the honorable
Count Hymanovsky, Pure Flavor will present a complete cycle of the Beethoven String Quartets
at Kenyon Hall over the next few seasons.

Frankie McCabe is a genre-bending singer-songwriter born & raised in Northern California, and now residing part time in Seattle. Most days, you’ll find her plucking away with songwriting, recording original material, trying her hand at mixing in a friend’s home studio, storyboarding and editing video content or performing live – both solo and with a number of different collaborators.
Her vocal delivery is often described as “bluesy”, “passionate”, “soulful” and at times, “haunting.” Frankie’s musical endeavors span primarily from vintage-inspired pop & folk to alt-rock and even country, with a healthy dose of novelty experimentation in her repertoire.
A prolific and oftentimes deeply personal songwriter with a diverse array of solo & co-written tracks under her belt, Frankie’s approach to lyricism tends toward wistful & confessional; featuring themes of uncomfortable self-reflection with an underlying sense of hope, as well as the intention to heal.
But she also has a distinct flair for dramatic storytelling, which is further evidenced by an ever-expanding collection of self-made music videos & indie films frequently born of Frankie’s fascination with the supernatural, human psychology, and bygone eras of history, merged with a strong desire to overcome her own darkness and reach others on similar journeys.

Come join a group of kind, fun women for a song circle led by Sandra Glauz. No singing experience needed, just come if you want to sing delightful, easy, heart-filled songs and chants.
