It’s not really clear from the announcement what they plan to do or why. I assume close off that portion of the street to cars? If so, I might support it depending on how it’s done. They will need to consider the impact to the neighboring streets and traffic as well. A lot of parents drop kids off at school along Lander St., they would then be re-routed down 44th to Stevens (presumably). They may need to also make the west half of the street one-way towards the west, but it could involve changes to other nearby streets as well. I wish they explained this better in the announcement. Seems typical from Seattle projects unfortunately.
