Elise Hooper is a West Seattle author who writes novels centered on trailblazing women who have been overlooked by history. Her books, The Other Alcott, a nominee for the Washington State Book award, Learning to See, Fast Girls and Angels of the Pacific, explore the lives of the Alcott sisters, the photographer Dorothea Lange, pioneering women Olympians of the 1930s and a group of Army nurses held captive in the Philippines during World War II. Come hear Elise talk about these women and their fascinating contributions to history.
