Why Donate Blood?
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Blood transfusions are
essential for patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatment, managing chronic illnesses, and
responding to traumatic injuries. Despite this urgent need, only about 3% of eligible donors in
the U.S. actually donate blood. A single donation can save up to three lives.

About Bloodworks Northwest
Bloodworks Northwest has been serving the Pacific Northwest since 1944. It provides blood to
nearly 100 hospitals across Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, operating 12 donor centers and
thousands of mobile blood drives each year. In addition to blood collection, Bloodworks is a
leader in blood-related medical research and innovation. Learn more at www.bloodworksnw.org.
