“In the Shadow of Reconstruction: A Portrait of Northwest Black Pioneers”

Maisha Barnett is a fourth-generation Washingtonian and built environment enthusiast. In this fascinating lecture,
Maisha will share her family’s story dating back to the 1800s and as instrumental figures in Seattle’s and the region’s
founding. A key contributor to the development of public open spaces, Maisha has held leadership roles on Seattle and
King County park boards and commissions, served as project manager for the Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park and founded
the Powell Barnett Legacy Project. Entry fee: $10 members and non-members. Advance RSVP requested.
