Will there be no in-person or video events held in addition to this?

I am outraged by the ineffectiveness of this town hall. It was a FARCE.

I called in at 5:52, got added at 6:03, raised my hand to ask a question at that point, and was not called on.

About 30% of the questions addressed were presubmitted, with no publicized way to presubmit questions. They and they never called on me.

They repeatedly asked people to raise their hands but then ended the town hall on a presubmitted question.

My question was to our two representatives: particularly, Rep Fitzgibbon, as majority leader who sits on appropriations and Rep Thomas as assistant majority whip: why did they not prioritize scheduling the major education funding bills (HB 1338 – MSOC, HB 1356 -Special Ed, HB 1579 Transporation)in the house to get them through committee before , and are they going to support the two bills that were passed by the Senate?- SB 5192 – MSOC – funding for essential school district materials.- SB 5263 – funding for special education?

OUR SCHOOLS ARE IN CRISIS. Parents are being asked to come in and help with achieving grade level literacy goals. PTAs are raising funds for literacy assistants. What are our schools for if not teaching children to read? Have you heard that third grade literacy scores are a predictor of how many prison cells need to be built? Education is foundational – that’s why it’s written in the state constitution as the Paramount Duty of the legislature, and our current legislature is failing in this duty.
