But what about the Christmas lights?

Big sign in the Menashe & Sons Jewelers window in The Junction — Jack Menashe’s retiring after 30-plus years. Since it’s “… and Sons,” we’re assuming the business will go on. But what about the Christmas lights at the Menashe house on Beach Drive? Please tell us they’re not going into retirement yet! We’re still reeling from the loss of the Gai display long ago. (Not to mention the little old guy in Burien, may he rest in peace.)

I truly miss Emilio’s magical Christmas displays. We used to have Emilio Chrismas parties- after an early dinner we’d head down to Burien. The fun of trying to guess what he’d added new that year.
One year my son-in-law’s 14-year old daughter was here from Norway. she took 2 rolls of film. Now 20, she still talks about it.

I see they are getting ready for the big Christmas display again this year. Always a beautiful sight to see!! Stopped by the store tonight and it was like a party in there. Wine, chocolates, cookies, other good stuff for the customers… and LOTS of people shopping. Must have been at least 30 or more in there at the time we were. Jack has truly been a kind and welcoming gentleman and businessman here in West Seattle and his presence in the store will be missed. (Maybe we will still see him there now and then??) Why would you shop at a mall when you can deal with Jack and his excellent staff here in the neighborhood? I wish him a very happy retirement!

Sorry, comment time is over.
