Memorial planned Saturday for Herald reporter Tim St. Clair

As reported earlier this week, longtime West Seattle Herald reporter Tim St. Clair died Monday night after battling cancer. (His obituary is on the Herald site.) This morning, we just received word that his memorial is set for Saturday on Alki:

A celebration of life for Tim St. Clair, Mr. West Seattle, is being held on Saturday, March 1st, at the Alki Bathhouse, 2701 Alki Ave. SW., from 4 PM to 7 PM. It is open to the public, Tim’s family would love to hear stories about Tim and his time in West Seattle as a reporter for the Herald. Please post this on your site at the request of his family. There will be photos of Tim from his life as well as mementos and awards and memories of a wonderful man who contributed so much to the community.

Is there a particular charity, perhaps one that specializes in the research and treatment of pancreatic cancer, where Tim’s family would like memorial donations directed?

I’ll ping the person who sent us word of the memorial to see if they can tell us. Pancreatic cancer killed my mother, also at a relatively young age, so I know what an incurable, fast-moving beast it is (no cancer is pretty but that one is particularly vicious) – and until just a few years ago, it didn’t get the attention and research that its viciousness really merited. PanCAN is one of the groups that has really taken wing in recent years. — TR, WSB editor

THIS IS VERY SAD ABOUT TIM’S PASSING, HE WAS A GREAT GUY AND A REAL WEST SEATTLEITE. SINCE THE WEST SEATTLE HERALD MOVED IN NEXT DOOR TO US AT LINDA’S FLOWERS WE HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW TIM AND HE WAS SUCH A CARING AND SWEET MAN. WE ARE VERY UPSET THAT HIS SWEET FACE WON’T BE WALKING BY OUR DOOR ANYMORE AND OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY. EVERYONE AT LINDA’S FLOWERS

Sorry, comment time is over.
