“West Seattle Art Attack” caught on camera

artattack1030topphoto.jpg

OK, maybe “caught on camera” isn’t entirely the best phrase, since this photo (and others) came from “West Seattle Art Attack” him/herself — and proves they have accomplices — shown here at one of the five houses where they say they left pumpkins last night. (Catch up on what this is all about by reading yesterday’s first post and later update.) Ahead, see if you recognize the four other distinctively decorated homes “hit” last night — plus, beneath the photos, one caveat from WSAA:

Now, the caveat from WSAA: The pumpkins being left in West Seattle yards (may or may not be more to come tonight, they say) are the somewhat flawed versions of pumpkins being created for local charity sales. So WSAA wanted us to note, they’re hoping recipients aren’t disappointed by the flaws!

I don’t know, but Art Attack sounds bad, like someone is destroying art rather than leaving anonymous gifts.

I walked past the last house in these pics (blue bottle beach) last night around 8:00pm when a car pulled up and 3 people got out and ‘did’ something. Wonder if they were the ‘attackers?’

#2 looks like the event space by Admiral Safeway – does anyone live there? #4 is currently on the market. I don’t know if any humans are living at #4 right now, but in this photo there is an orb over the front door…maybe someone else is watching over the house (insert ghostly sfx here)!

GenHillOne… That space belongs to our landlord; she was living there while fixing it up, but I don’t think she still is. It’s very cool inside, and she is definitely an artistic and creative person deserving of her own glass pumpkin! Good eye in recognizing it.

Oooh – I was thinking how cool it would be to live there. I think I’ve seen pictures online of the space and yes, it’s beautiful and she deserves a pumpkin for her efforts!

    GenHillone,
You are sharp. You also know West Seattle well. I really don’t think an empty event space would appreciate a glass pumpkin as much as you would. I think you should have that pumpkin. Hmmmmm, how do I tell you where it is without revealing my secret identity? How do I avaoid a rush of people scrambling to find it? Maybe it’s already gone. If not, it’s yours. . . . .

We’ve always said “When you lose a pumpkin, the Pumpkin Fairy will make sure that you get another, better one”

The Flower House deserves it’s very own Art Attack beautiful pumpkin.

(Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause)

Nice thought Art Attack, but by all means keep the mystery – that’s half the fun! Your project has clearly brought a lot of smiles to the WSB community. And I just love photos that are “pieces” of what’s around us – like yours of the door. A favorite photo of mine is an extreme close-up of water lapping at the worn cement stairs down at Alki. Most here would recognize it, but those visiting my house always wonder what it is. It means something to us and we love it.

Sorry, comment time is over.
