If you heard the screaming and cheering from high atop Alki Point over the weekend (we did, while out walking before the deluge) — Cami from AlkiNews.com lets us in on what’s going on — West Seattle Little League is hosting the District 7 All-Star Tournament at Bar-S Playfield. So far the WS 9-10 and 10-11 teams have racked up victories; more games to come for them (6 pm Wednesday), and the 11-12 team will play later this week too.
Both West Seattle Little League teams won again tonight (WED)! Great turnout from the community. Saturday, 10am, the 9-10 and 10-11 teams play again!
Having W.S. host the All Star tourney is great! Being a W.S. native myself, it’s nice to be back in the neighborhood, enjoying some terrific baseball and then heading over to Sunfish for the best tasting fish & chips!
It’s an awesome competition – but I GOTTA say, GO SHNLL!
The competition is serious between West Seattle and South Highline! So. Highline won the 9-10’s division, West Seattle the 11’s and tonite (7/9/07) both West Seattle and South Highline will battle it out at Pac West Fields for the 12 year old major division championship game. It’s been exciting! May the best team win… (I’ll admit – I’m partial – go SHNLL!)
