Crime Watch update: More information on Admiral robbery arrests

The Seattle Police media unit has just provided an update on the three robbery suspects whose North Admiral arrests we reported this morning (after overnight coverage here):

In an announcement recorded on the SPD media-update line, Officer Jeff Kappel says the three who were arrested in the Admiral District early today ARE believed to be part of the group of robbers involved in monthlong stickup spree around the area. He also has identified the three suspects arrested early today – two 18-year-olds and one 21-year-old, all of whom he says have been booked into King County Jail. He adds, “We are very pleased” about the arrests. 5:56 PM ADDENDUM: Checking on the suspects’ status in jail, which shows whether they were booked any time recently as well – 18-year-old Jose G. Torres spent three days in juvenile custody last July on a theft charge, according to the jail register. 18-year-old Esgar Villegas-Luna spent two days in juvenile custody last November in connection with an auto-theft charge, and two days in August for alleged auto theft (can’t tell if they were the same case). 21-year-old Irvin E. Lopez-Valenzuela does not have any other recent jail stints listed (we’ll check court records later).

Are any of the suspects perhaps students at West Seattle High School?

No additional information at this point regarding whether they are students or not. I will be looking for the police report, which sometimes includes that sort of information.

ok…I’m gonna bite…why the question as to whether or not they go to WSHS? just curiosity? If these are the same guys as other holdups, they’ve been all over WS, from Highland Park to Admiral..they don’t seem like highschool students, being 16 and 21 (yeah, I know that there are some 18 yo kids at the highschool…), but…I have a feeling they’re not local “kids”…

Sorry, comment time is over.
