UPDATED JULY 4, 2018: Want to know what’s happening in West Seattle on the 4th of July? That’s what this page is all about.

FIREWORKS INFO
==========================
(July 4, 2012, photo by Jamie Kinney – Lake Union fireworks as seen from Admiral Way Bridge)
SEATTLE’S BIGGEST FIREWORKS SHOW: There’s only one major show in the city limits, and that’s the Seafair Summer 4th at Lake Union. You can generally get a decent view of much of the show from certain north-facing spots in West Seattle, including Hamilton Viewpoint, Belvedere Park/Viewpoint, and much of Harbor Avenue, including Seacrest Park. Don’t show up at the last minute unless you’re on foot – parking fills up early just about everywhere with a view, and we’ve noticed a lot more advance no-parking signage this year. The show usually starts around 10:20 pm. (It’ll be live on TV on Channel 7, too.)
THREE TREE POINT FIREWORKS: South of West Seattle, this waterfront community presents a display fired from an offshore barge (info here) around 10 pm, funded by community/business donations – if you’re interested in watching, consider donating (you can do it online). Where’s Three Tree Point, you ask? Here’s a map. Where can the show be seen outside Three Tree Point? You could watch from the west side of Marine View Drive in a few spots, if there’s a good southward view.
IF YOU’RE GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE OR CONSIDERING IT … Here’s the list of official fireworks displays around the state (July 4th AND other days too – Poulsbo, for example, has a July 3rd show). Not necessarily all-inclusive.
P.S. ABOUT FIREWORKS VIEWING: This suggestion from Lura on Beach Drive was made in a past year but should still be valid:
Much of Tacoma’s huge fireworks display can be seen from the beach at Me Kwa Mooks and from Constellation Park (63rd and Beach Dr). Bainbridge Island’s display and much of Port Orchard’s displays can also be seen from Beach Dr. The sound of the waves makes a nice accompaniment to the distant (but still awesome) Tacoma display for anyone looking for something a bit different.
REMINDER ABOUT ‘PERSONAL FIREWORKS’: Illegal in Seattle. Illegal in Burien. Legal in White Center (and the rest of unincorporated North Highline) but ONLY between 9 am and midnight on the 4th, even though the fireworks stands started sales last week; read the county rules here (as well as the rules/restrictions elsewhere around the state).

4TH OF JULY PARADE
==========================
(WSB photo from past 4th of July Parade)
WEST SEATTLE 4TH OF JULY KIDS’ PARADE: This community parade along several residential streets in North Admiral is West Seattle’s one and only 4th of July parade. All kids welcome to participate, with their families – walk, ride a bike or scooter, be pulled in a wagon, pushed in a stroller … The parade starts at 10 am at 44th and Sunset (map here). It’s an all-volunteer effort and again this year the rising costs are being crowdfunded – please help if you can. Here’s the route map:
After the parade – games and treats (bring $ for concessions, an Admiral Neighborhood Association fundraiser) at Hamilton Viewpoint Park!
