UPDATE: Wendy’s White Center is open

1 PM: As reported here yesterday, the new Wendy’s in White Center was expected to open today. And a texter reports it’s indeed open, saying they’ve got “Frosties in hand.” If you missed earlier coverage, it’s at 16th SW/SW 102nd.

3:05 PM: We finally got someone over to verify and grab a couple photos:

No permanent signage outside so far but lots of banners and balloons. Here’s what the franchisee’s spokesperson told us last week the hours would be, once they opened:

Pick-Up Window:
Sunday–Thursday: 6:30 AM – 1:00 AM
Friday & Saturday: 6:30 AM – 2:00 AM
Dining Room: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM (All days)

Nice to see a nearby Wendy’s again. I remember going to the old Wendy’s on Ambaum with my Mom as a kid/teenager back in the 1980’s.

Left around 7PM and I would say the line for the drive-thru was about 15 cars deep. My wait inside the restaurant wasn’t too bad. They have two ordering kiosks for card non-cash payment transactions and one spot near the front where you get the food where someone can take your order manually and also pay by cash. Someone will have to take your order manually if you are using the Valpak coupon as I did. There also isn’t a way to use the Valpak coupon within the Wendy’s app, but you can scan the paper receipt’s barcode afterwards to get the reward points for the transaction. It also should be noted that the regular menu prices at the White Center location are more expensive than the Burien First Avenue location, even though they’re owned by the same franchisee. Using the app just now for instance, the Double Stack is $3.79 at White Center and $2.99 at Burien. The Baconator at White Center is $9.29 and at Burien it’s $8.79, so be aware of that. Luckily any promos that offer a set price for a certain item are honored as listed.

I was there at 1:00 today. At that time I wasn’t too busy. And I got my food pretty quick. I paid cash so I had to go to the counter. I was going to take a picture of the guy in the frosty costume yet when I got ready to leave he was not outside anymore. I’m really happy they are open.
